Senior Tech Lead Manager

Providertrust

Is this job info correct?

About ProviderTrust ProviderTrust was founded in 2010 with a mission to create safer healthcare for everyone through OIG and state Medicaid exclusion monitoring. Today, the organization has developed the industry’s most accurate dataset for ongoing exclusion monitoring and primary source verification, serving the nation’s top health systems, payers, and healthcare organizations. Our solutions monitor employees, vendors, provider networks, licenses, credentials, and more for OIG and state Medicaid exclusions, sanctions or disciplinary actions, license expirations, or suspensions. With a team of 100+ employees, our Nashville-based company has consistently been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work by Modern Healthcare, Inc. Magazine, and the Nashville Business Journal. To learn more, visit [providertrust.com] About the role We are building small, empowered product teams that own their area end to end and ship on a platform that handles the heavy lifting. You will lead one or more of these teams as a Senior Tech Lead Manager: a hands-on technical leader who owns the delivery and people of the team or teams you lead, sets the technical standard others calibrate to, and helps shape how engineering works beyond them. The role can grow to span more than one product team over time. This is a senior leadership role for someone who wants both the technical and the people sides of the job and has done both before. Technical foundation 8+ years of software engineering experience, including time leading a team as a hands-on lead. Ability to design cloud-native systems and solve high-impact problems. Full-stack and cloud-native development delivering on AWS: containerization (Docker), serverless architectures, and orchestration (ECS/Kubernetes). Cloud networking (VPCs, load balancers, API gateways), security (IAM roles, encryption), identifying bottlenecks in distributed systems, and performance/cost optimization. Practical knowledge of event-driven architecture. Strong at troubleshooting, profiling, insights, and dashboards. Strong command of Java or C# and associated libraries optimized for cloud environments. Cloud-native databases: SQL (Aurora/RDS), query performance, and document data stores (DynamoDB). Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, rolling/dark deploys, branching, and code pipelines. ReactJS or another modern JavaScript front-end stack. Leadership track record You have led a small engineering team as a hands-on lead and want both the technical and the people sides of the job. You have developed engineers into more senior, higher-impact roles, and ideally developed other leads; you see growing people as core to the job. You have raised the level of an existing team, not just maintained a strong one, and you know how to do it without grinding morale. You work with product as an equal and have the judgment to challenge a roadmap, not just receive one. You can tell process that protects the work from process that just slows it down, and you keep what matters while cutting the rest. Nice to have Experience in healthcare, compliance, or another regulated domain. Experience on a platform or stream-aligned team model. Lead your team(s). Own one or more product teams of roughly four to five engineers each, their technical direction, and what they ship. Set a clear vision and the "why," and keep the loop closed on commitments. Stay hands-on, to standard. Design, write, and review production code, and set the technical bar by doing the work alongside your team. Set and raise that standard across teams, not just your own, as a technical reference point others calibrate to. Grow people. Run 1:1s that go somewhere, give feedback engineers can act on, and push each toward more scope. Develop senior and staff-track engineers, and mentor other team leads. Own delivery. Your team or teams ship predictably, and you are accountable for it. Build high-quality, testable solutions without over-engineering. Partner with product. Work with your product manager as an equal, deciding together what is worth building, and influence product and technical direction across your area. Plan capacity. Partner with the Director on staffing, capacity, and allocation across the teams you touch, forecast capacity, and flag early when demand outstrips it. Lead adaptively. Keep only the process that earns its place, cut ceremony that slows delivery, and adjust as the problem changes. Lead in person. Be on-site with your team the expected days; lead by proximity. Drive root cause. Resolve escalations by finding patterns and root-cause fixes, and lead the hardest technical problems. At ProviderTrust, we recognize that experience is built in many ways. If you have relevant skills that are not reflected in your resume or your experience doesn’t match our exact requirements, we welcome your candidacy and encourage you to share more. We champion building a team that embodies empathy, equity, respect, and inclusivity while actively supporting our community, clients, partners, and friends. We value differences of opinion and embrace unique perspectives. We desire an environment that allows all team members to bring their whole selves to work unashamedly. We carefully consider every application and will either move forward with you, find another team that might be a better fit, keep in touch for future opportunities, or thank you for your time. ProviderTrust is an equal opportunity employer. To be great at ProviderTrust, we find our team members have these things in common: Gain energy from working in a fast-paced, creative environment Decision-making that employs a blend of data-driven insights and intuition Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects concurrently Resilience and positivity, able to address setbacks and bounce back quickly Resourcefulness, discovering creative ways to get things done Joy in making an immediate and positive impact Diverse interests that are welcomed and extend beyond our organization Things That Make Us A Great Place To Work Hybrid schedule: 2 days in office 16-week paid primary caregiver with a 2-week phase-back leave policy 4-week paid secondary caregiver leave policy We're genuinely curious about AI. Team members are encouraged to experiment and share what they learn Competitive base salary and incentive package with 401k matching, HSA employer contribution, and company-paid life and disability insurance Medical, dental, and vision benefits: PT pays 80% of your premiums. We also offer access to a range of free mental health and well-being resources.
