Senior VMware Infrastructure Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 8-10 years.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are seeking an experienced Senior VMware Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and help build, optimise, and support our next-generation infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise VMware infrastructure
• Perform upgrades, patching and lifecycle management of ESXi hosts and vCenter
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and ensure high availability
• Integrate VMware with storage, networking, backup and monitoring solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure projects
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement
• Create technical documentation and knowledge base articles

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in VMware infrastructure administration and implementation

Technical Expertise:

• VMware vSphere (ESXi & vCenter Server Appliance)
• vSphere Clusters (HA, DRS), vMotion, Templates, Snapshots & VM Cloning
• vSAN, NSX, Content Library, Host Profiles & Lifecycle Manager
• Storage technologies (FC, NFS, iSCSI, vSAN, RDM)
• VMware Networking (vDS, Standard Switches, VLANs, NIC Teaming)
• VMware Security, Roles & Permissions, RBAC & Certificate Management
• Backup & Recovery solutions (Rubrik, Veeam, Commvault or similar)
• Disaster Recovery using VMware SRM or equivalent
• Cisco UCS administration (Fabric Interconnects & Service Profiles)
• Hybrid Cloud environments (VMware Cloud on AWS / Azure VMware Solution)

Nice to Have

• PowerCLI scripting & automation
• VMware Aria Operations
• VMware Converter
• Data Centre infrastructure knowledge
• Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments
