Summary Workday is the human capital management system for Novanta and requires compliance within all countries in which Novanta functions. As the Senior Workday Analyst contractor at Novanta, you will lead HR technology roadmap initiatives, driving tactical system enhancements across Workday modules. You will support system change management, ensuring functionality is optimized and changes are properly documented. You will design and implement system solutions and train existing team members to build their proficiency and ownership of these tools. Primary Responsibilities Drive execution of the HR technology roadmap, translating business priorities into system enhancements and advising leadership on sequencing, trade-offs, and long-term platform strategy. Serve as a trusted advisor to HR Technology Director on Workday capabilities, recommending solutions that align system design with organizational goals. Establish and govern a consistent testing cadence (CRP, UAT, sign-off) with evidence capture, partnering with the Workday HCM Analyst on execution. Direct the documentation, maintenance, and configuration of Business Processes (BPs), including testing oversight and end-user enablement. Design and implement a standardized intake process for break/fix requests and new functionality requirements, briefing leadership on prioritization and impact. Evaluate and advise leadership on the impact of Workday release updates to existing BPs, security, and reporting before rollout. Lead cross-functional collaboration with IT partners on Workday integrations to downstream systems, supporting process improvement and SSO initiatives. Direct requirements gathering and implementation of third-party integrations (e.g., LMS, survey tools, benefit vendors) in partnership with the Workday vendor. Mentor and upskill team members through structured training on Workday configuration, functionality, and best practices, building bench strength across the team. Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies Bachelor's degree - preferably in Information Technology, BIS, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience supporting a Workday HCM environment with experience in hierarchy, security and business process administration. Demonstrated ability to apply new technologies to solve challenges. Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities in an HRM and business process environment. Demonstrated data and process analysis acumen with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as the ability to sustain ongoing relationships with colleagues to work collaboratively as a team member. Must be self-starter with the ability to identify problems/issues and offer workable solutions. Strong oral and written presentation/communication skills. Ability to question/challenge assumptions in a constructive manner. Comfortable in training others to use technology. Demonstrated project management acumen with ability to manage/participate in multiple projects while remaining focused on detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in an IT environment and demonstrated adherence to IT requirements gathering and testing protocols.
