Shopify Developer

Remote | Contract-to-permanent opportunity | UK working-hours overlap

Pluro is building a new internal development team and is looking for an experienced Shopify developer to join us.

The role will begin with a paid contract trial, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position if it is a strong fit on both sides.

We are a Shopify agency specialising in sports-led commerce, subscription systems and complex ecommerce delivery. We need a developer who can produce high-quality work, contribute to solutions and take ownership rather than simply complete isolated tickets.

The role

You will work closely with our project manager, solutions resource, designers and founder to:

• Build and improve Shopify themes
• Translate Figma designs into accurate responsive experiences
• Develop custom sections, templates and theme functionality
• Work with Shopify APIs, apps and third-party integrations
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Improve performance, accessibility and code quality
• Support Shopify migrations and ongoing client retainers
• Review requirements and suggest better technical approaches
• Test your work thoroughly across desktop and mobile
• Provide clear updates, estimates and technical documentation
• Use AI development tools to improve speed without compromising quality

What we are looking for

• Strong commercial Shopify development experience
• Advanced Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills
• Experience building custom Shopify themes
• A strong understanding of Shopify 2.0 architecture
• Experience working accurately from Figma
• Confidence working with Git and structured development workflows
• Experience with Shopify APIs and third-party integrations
• Strong responsive development and browser-testing skills
• Good understanding of performance, accessibility and technical SEO
• Clear communication and dependable delivery
• The ability to identify risks and propose solutions
• High attention to detail across desktop and mobile

Experience with Shopify Plus, subscriptions, international stores, complex product logic or ecommerce optimisation would be valuable.
