Short Term Portfolio Optimization Deputy

You play a key role in maximizing the value of Luminus’ short-term energy portfolio. Working at the heart of electricity and gas markets, you help ensure operational excellence, financial performance, and continuity of critical optimization activities. You combine market expertise, strategic thinking and strong coordination skills to support business performance in a complex and fast-changing environment. What you'll do You help define and implement short-term portfolio optimization strategies while ensuring compliance with risk management principles and company policies. Working closely with optimization teams, you coordinate day-ahead and intraday portfolio activities across electricity and gas markets to maximize value creation. You ensure consistency, operational excellence and knowledge sharing by documenting best practices, developing procedures and supporting team training. You act as a key interface between business and IT teams, helping deploy new tools, processes and operational improvements that support optimization activities. You oversee market obligations, transparency requirements and regulatory compliance while monitoring market developments and legislative changes. Through performance measurement and continuous improvement initiatives, you help optimize processes, develop KPIs and strengthen the effectiveness of the optimization team. What you bring A university degree in Engineering, Economics, Commercial Engineering or an equivalent qualification through experience. At least 5 to 8 years of experience in the energy, utilities or commodities sector, enabling you to understand complex market environments. Strong knowledge of electricity and gas markets, including operational, contractual and regulatory aspects that allow you to make informed decisions. Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including advanced Excel and VBA, combined with strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills that enable you to transfer knowledge, influence stakeholders and build trusted relationships. Fluency in English, French and Dutch, allowing you to work effectively in a multilingual environment. Why join us?
