Job Description The temporary Slate Consultant / Slate Systems Support Specialist will provide short-term, specialized support to the Laney Graduate School Academic Operations team during a period of operational transition and systems stabilization.This position will support Slate-related workflow development, documentation, troubleshooting, intake/work tracking design, and transition planning. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The role is intended to provide targeted, temporary support that strengthens internal capacity, reduces reliance on external consulting, and supports continuity of Slate-related business processes within Academic Operations. Provides specialized Slate consulting and systems support for Academic Operations workflows, including admissions, enrollment, academic records, student communications, checklist items, forms, reader workflows, reports, queries, and related business processes. Supports the development and implementation of the new Slate-based intake and work tracking process for Academic Operations requests, including consultation on structure, routing, categorization, documentation, and workflow design. Assists with documentation of existing Slate configurations, business processes, and operational procedures to support continuity, onboarding, and internal knowledge transfer. Provides historical and functional context regarding LGS Slate configuration, business practices, and prior system decisions to support informed planning and implementation. Consults on Slate workflow improvements, process stabilization, and system troubleshooting related to Academic Operations priorities. Assists with review and resolution of complex Slate-related issues that require knowledge of LGS business processes, system history, and cross-functional impacts. Maintains confidentiality and exercise discretion when working with student records, personnel-related information, internal business processes, system access, and other sensitive institutional information. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and six years of experience with Slate or comparable higher education student information, admissions, enrollment, or workflow management systems or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Prior experience with Slate configuration, queries, forms, checklist items, communications, reader workflows, reports, portals, or related Slate functionality and prior experience supporting Laney Graduate School or Emory University academic operations, admissions, enrollment, records, or student-facing administrative processes is preferred. NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
