Title: Mainframe SMP/E & ZOSMF Expert
Location: Remote
Type: Long Term Contract
Rated: $Open/hr.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
Partner with vulnerability management teams to support
EZ CVE reporting
Define and finalize automation timelines for
Patch Management
Develop patch response models for ad-hoc and immediate escalation scenarios
Establish daily, weekly, and monthly patching and validation cadence
Review CVE package stability and improve reporting/dashboard capabilities
Enable
SMP/E processes
, define baseline datasets, and integrate with vulnerability scanning tools
Develop
AI-driven prompts and automation
for testing, RFB validation, and impact analysis
Provide advisory and implementation support for secure and stable patch deployment
🎯 Must-Have Skills
10–15 years of strong hands-on SMP/E experience
z/OSMF and REST API
experience, particularly the Software Management component
Git and USS/OMVS
skills
Experience installing and maintaining
z/OS and ISV software
Excellent software testing skills, including functionality, robustness, and performance testing
Strong
Python and REXX
scripting experience
Working knowledge of IBM software and
mainframe ISV software customization
10+ years of relevant professional experience
Strong overall
IT experience
