Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SOC Analyst Trainer to deliver engaging and practical online training sessions. This is a part-time remote opportunity with flexible scheduling, ideal for cybersecurity professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring.

The trainer will be responsible for delivering live SOC Analyst training sessions, guiding learners through real-world Security Operations Center (SOC) processes, conducting doubt-clearing sessions, and preparing students for entry-level and intermediate SOC Analyst roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver live online SOC Analyst training sessions in an interactive and engaging manner.
• Use the presentation materials provided by Thinkcloudly to conduct training sessions.
• Enhance the training by incorporating real-world cyber security incidents, practical demonstrations, and hands-on labs.
• Demonstrate SOC operations using industry-standard SIEM and security monitoring tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, Elastic SIEM, Wazuh, or similar platforms.
• Explain concepts such as Security Monitoring, Log Analysis, Threat Detection, Incident Response, Alert Investigation, Threat Intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK Framework, and Cyber Kill Chain through practical examples.
• Guide students in analysing security events, investigating incidents, and responding to cyber threats.
• Conduct doubt-clearing sessions and mentor students throughout the course.
• Support learners with interview preparation, resume guidance, mock interviews, and career-oriented discussions.
• Keep training content aligned with current cyber security threats, SOC best practices, and industry trends.
• Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of SOC operations, cyber security fundamentals, networking, Windows and Linux security, and incident response.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, Elastic SIEM, Wazuh, or similar platforms.
• Good knowledge of security concepts including Log Management, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR, Firewalls, Threat Hunting, Vulnerability Management, and Malware Analysis.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Cyber Kill Chain, and OWASP Top 10.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with different levels of experience.
• Experience delivering online training or technical workshops is preferred.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CEH, Splunk Core Certified User, Splunk Power User, Microsoft SC-200, GIAC, or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Incident Response, Threat Hunting, or Cyber Security Operations.
• Prior teaching or technical training experience is an added advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
