Role Description

The Social Media Marketing Intern is a fully remote, contract role based in Kenya, responsible for supporting MDVirtualAssistant's online presence across social media platforms targeting US-based medical practice decision-makers. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with content planning, creating and scheduling social media posts, and helping manage community engagement through comments and direct messages. The intern will collaborate with the marketing team to support digital campaigns, track basic performance metrics, and suggest improvements based on audience interactions. Additional responsibilities may include conducting light market and competitor research, maintaining brand consistency in all content, and preparing simple reports on social media activities. Some overlap with US Eastern Time business hours is preferred for team coordination and content scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must be based in Kenya
• Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing for promoting services and engaging target audiences
• Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Content Creation and Marketing for developing compelling, brand-aligned posts and campaigns
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for clear messaging, collaboration, and professional online interactions in English
• Familiarity with major social platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X) and basic analytics tools is beneficial
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and maintain some availability during US Eastern Time hours
• Attention to detail, creativity, and a genuine interest in healthcare or medical services are advantageous
• Current enrollment in or completion of a program in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field is a plus but not required
