Software Engineer - GoLang (Contractual role)

A Golang Developer is responsible for building scalable, high-performance backend services that power Pocket FM's core platform. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership, and the ability to develop reliable distributed systems that handle large-scale user traffic. The ideal candidate is a hands-on backend engineer with experience in Golang, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and event-driven architectures. You will work closely with engineering teams on critical platform initiatives and contribute to building robust, production-ready services. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang . Build and optimize APIs, microservices, and distributed systems for high availability and performance. Contribute to key platform migration initiatives, including: Media Pipeline Migration to Temporal Communication Platform Migration Work with MySQL , Kafka , and AWS to build reliable, fault-tolerant systems. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices. Participate in system design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions. Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability. Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality software. Take end-to-end ownership of features—from development and testing to deployment and monitoring. Continuously improve code quality, developer productivity, and engineering processes. Candidates who demonstrate: 2–3 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Golang . Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and system design. Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services. Experience building event-driven systems using Kafka or similar messaging platforms. Familiarity with microservices architecture and REST APIs. Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of ownership. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
