Your area of work: We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the CBL Connectivity & Data development team (HUB) to work on a JMS middleware application. The application is based on Java (JDK21+) and C++, in-house developed, and deployed partially as a standalone Java application and partially on the OpenShift platform. For persistence, Oracle RDBMS, IBM MQ, and Apache Kafka are used. The application consists of separate micro-services which communicate over JMS with each other as well as with the rest of the world. We use GitHub, JIRA, Gradle, Jenkins, Sonar, JUnit, HPFortify, and — last but not least — AI tools including the most advanced models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. We're looking for someone who treats software delivery as more than writing code — analyzing problems deeply, designing secure solutions, and owning outcomes through to a stable production result. Your responsibilities: Work on a highly critical part of connectivity infrastructure Analyze and clarify business requirements, identifying gaps, risks, and edge cases Design interfaces and solutions for internal and external systems, weighing trade-offs and long-term impact Communicate scope, timeline, and progress proactively; present and refine solution proposals with the team Apply secure-by-design principles, identifying and treating security risks throughout the lifecycle Own your work end-to-end — analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support (in simulation and production) Learn and follow the software delivery process at DBG Your profile: University degree in information technology, engineering, or similar (CTU, UK MFF) Proficient in written and spoken English 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering Experience with Java or C++ Experience with messaging architecture (event streaming, pub-sub, SOA, message-driven middleware) and message formats (XML, JSON, CSV, PDF, ...)
