As a Software Engineer specializing in Kong, you will manage and extend the API gateway infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient communication across distributed services. You will act as a key link between backend services and external consumers, optimizing traffic flow and enforcing robust architectural standards.
What You'll Do
Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Kong API gateway instances.
Develop and maintain custom Lua plugins to extend gateway functionality and meet specific business requirements.
Configure and optimize API routing, load balancing, and rate limiting policies.
Implement and govern security policies, including authentication and authorization protocols at the edge.
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate APIs and ensure seamless connectivity across the ecosystem.
Monitor gateway performance and troubleshoot complex latency or connectivity issues to maintain high availability.
What We Are Looking For
4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or API Management.
Proven expertise in managing and extending Kong API gateway.
Proficiency in developing custom Lua plugins to extend gateway functionality.
Hands-on experience configuring API routing and implementing security policies.
Advanced proficiency in English.
