Software Engineer (.NET / API Development)

About Us MyEmployment is reinventing how employment verifications work—giving employees control of their employment data, helping employers protect employee privacy, and reducing verification costs for lenders, background screening companies, and other credentialed organizations. Job Description This is a remote position. Overview MyEmployment is seeking a Software Engineer to help develop and maintain the backend services that power the MyEmployment employment and income verification platform. You will work with senior engineers to build APIs, develop integrations with payroll and HR systems, and support the data workflows used by verification providers across multiple industries. This position reports to the Director of Technology Solutions. Responsibilities • Develop backend services using C# and .NET Core. • Build and maintain REST APIs used by verification providers and employer systems. • Develop integrations with external enterprise systems, including: ◦ Employer payroll platforms ◦ HR (ATS / HRIS) systems • Implement JSON-based data processing services that normalize employment and payroll data. • Support authentication and authorization workflows used by employees and employers. • Develop event processing services used to manage verification requests and responses. • Participate in code reviews and Agile development cycles. • Support debugging and troubleshooting production issues. Requirements Required Qualifications • 3+ years of software development experience • Strong proficiency in: ◦ C# ◦ .NET Core ◦ REST APIs ◦ JSON ◦ Relational databases • Experience working with API integrations or third-party services. • Familiarity with modern source control workflows (Git). • Experience working in cloud-based application environments. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Microsoft Azure • Experience building integrations with enterprise SaaS systems. • Understanding secure coding practices and data protection.
