Software Principal Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Software Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple products and engineering teams. This individual will play a key role in defining architecture, driving engineering excellence, mentoring senior engineers, and solving complex technical challenges across our identity security platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native application development, secure software design, and enterprise-scale software architecture. Responsibilities Lead the technical architecture and design of large-scale enterprise software solutions. Drive engineering strategy and influence technical direction across multiple teams. Design highly scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native applications. Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and DevOps teams. Serve as the technical authority for critical engineering initiatives and architectural decisions. Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning sessions. Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices. Improve software quality through automation, testing, observability, and performance optimization. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate. Partner with Security teams to ensure secure development practices and compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues. Drive modernization efforts, including cloud migration, platform improvements, and technical debt reduction. Contribute to coding, design, code reviews, and proof-of-concept development. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 12+ years of professional software engineering experience. Extensive experience designing and building enterprise software products. Proven experience serving as a technical leader across multiple engineering teams. Deep knowledge of software architecture and distributed systems. Strong experience with cloud-native application development. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to influence without direct authority.
