We say that because we know that every conversation we have, every interface we design, and every new feature we ship is another opportunity for us to elevate everyday life experiences for our customers and the people and communities they serve. We want great people on our team, people who care deeply and share our values. That means welcoming who you are, your education, opinions, culture, and background, your race, gender, and identity, your age, religion, and beliefs. However you identify, you belong here. If you haven't seen yourself in the tech, camp, or school industries before, we'd love for you to apply. You are welcome here. About CampBrain CampBrain was founded in 1994. We make camp software, and summer camps, schools, and conference centers trust us to run their sign-ups, day-to-day work, and payments. Our mission hasn't changed. Great customer service, software people love, and a caring team, done in a straightforward honest way. In 2023, we were acquired by Clubessential Holdings. This year, we merged with Xplor Technologies. These structural changes have provided more resources to grow and continue to support camps and schools as best we can. A strong set of values guides how we make decisions, at every level. We're not just saying that, we back it up with how we hire, train, and grow our people. During your interview, listen for these values in action. If you don't hear them, ask us. Here's what we actually mean by that: Demonstrate care: With empathy and kindness, we demonstrate deep care for each other, our community, and the work we do. Bring joy: We show up with positivity, laughter, and delight. Learn continuously: With humility and curiosity, we embrace learning and improving. Communicate authentically: With candor and respect, we communicate openly. Think long-term: We focus on long-term, sustainable value. About this position Software Support is the most common way to join CampBrain, and many new staff start their career here. We're based in Toronto, but this role is fully remote. You must be currently eligible to work in Canada to apply for this position. Software Support sits within our Operations team, helping the hundreds of camps and schools that use CampBrain. This team is our frontline, known across the industry for caring, thoughtful, high-quality support. Working with them is a big reason our clients love their software. Our onboarding is extensive. Your first week is formal training, followed by a few weeks of shadowing alongside a buddy. From there, your workload builds up gradually, with the goal of being comfortably up and running within about 4 weeks. Working arrangements: Fully Remote in Canada . You can work fully remote in this position, provided you have eligible working rights in Canada and do not require sponsorship. What will your responsibilities be? Each week, you'll join either the phone team or the email team, working in shifts to help our clients with everything from quick questions to complex problems. No two days look the same here. One client might need help finding a button. The next might need a custom report built, or a hand balancing their numbers. You'll help spot and flag bugs too. It's the real day-to-day of a busy, growing business, and you'll be right in the middle of it. To break that down more formally: Provide support and consultation to CampBrain clients by phone and email Troubleshoot technical and configuration issues in the software Advise clients on software configuration and best practices Help clients reconcile financial records and resolve discrepancies Design and build custom reports to meet client needs Train new clients and users on the software Identify and escalate software bugs What do you bring to the table? No specific degree is required; a high school diploma or equivalent is enough. It helps if you've worked in customer service or at camp before, but we care more about your curiosity and drive than your resume. The traits that matter most: You are curious and always looking to understand how and why things work You take initiative without needing to be asked You love to help people and you care about making a meaningful long-term impact on the camp and school industries You can see the bigger picture. You connect your daily work to the team and our values, not just the task in front of you You have excellent customer service skills, it is the cornerstone of the company You are an outstanding written and verbal communicator You take pride in your work, you're highly accountable, and you love collaborating with others to learn and solve problems If you see yourself in this, even if not all of it, we'd still love to hear from you! What's in it for you? This role gives you more than just a paycheck: An opportunity to build real career experience, not just a resume line, in an industry where you can actually see your impact Ongoing skill-building through hands-on problem-solving and direct client relationships, plus support to keep learning on your own terms A supportive culture filled with people who want to help you be successful, and who take that seriously Why you should work here You’ll help more than 1,750 camps and schools across North America run their programs, while working alongside a smart, funny, and kind team. There’s plenty to learn here too. Our system handles more than one million camper registrations each year, representing nearly $1 billion in transactions. That scale is part of what makes the work interesting. While the role is remote, we also maintain an office that is available for you to use. The space is open, bright, and filled with natural light. If you choose to work mostly from home, we offer a work-from-home allowance to help support your setup. Prefer a mix of both? That works too. We’re flexible! Compensation Here's what you can expect: Starting Salary: $48k Paid Vacation: 4 weeks (increases to 5 weeks after 2 years) Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits, mental health support, wellness allowance, employer RRSP matching program, work-from-home allowance, and 10 paid unplanned days annually. Company culture and events We're a close-knit team, building something we love, and our people and our culture matter to us. We work hard to create chances to connect, both online and in person. A few examples: Family weekends at camp Online events: Book Club, Long-Shorts Canoe Heads for Kids: Volunteering and fundraising to get more kids to camp At Xplor, we believe that the best innovation and ideas happen at the intersections of our differences - people of diverse cultures, generations, disciplines, and lived experiences.
