Company Description The KTH Developer Society is a student-led engineering collective at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, focused on turning academic knowledge into production-ready technology. Members work in cross-functional teams that combine engineering and strategic thinking to design, build, and scale real-world digital products and infrastructure. Current flagship projects include building bare-metal server infrastructure with the Student Developer Club of TU Darmstadt and a joint ML-OPS project with KTH Robotics Society. The society offers hands-on experience in both hardware and software, preparing members for product-oriented technology leadership. Through partnerships with companies, the society provides a pipeline of ambitious talent and opportunities for joint technical challenges and recruitment.

Role Description As a Software Developer, you will contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of software components across ongoing projects. Day-to-day tasks may include building backend and frontend features, integrating services with server infrastructure, writing clean and maintainable code, and participating in code reviews. You will collaborate with other developers, designers, and product-minded peers to refine requirements, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance and reliability. Documentation of your work, experimentation with new tools and frameworks, and contribution to technical discussions will be part of the role. This is a KTH students only position based in Stockholm with a hybrid setup, allowing some work from home. As we are a university society, we do not pay for this role.

Qualifications

• rogramming skills in one or more languages commonly used for web or systems development (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C/C++, or Go).
• Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles, including data structures, algorithms, version control (e.g., Git), and basic testing practices.
• Experience or interest in backend and/or frontend development, including working with APIs, databases, and modern web frameworks.
• Comfort working in Linux-based environments and curiosity about server infrastructure, networking, or cloud/self-hosted services.
• Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly in English, and give and receive constructive feedback.
• Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a relevant technical program (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology) or equivalent experience.
• Self-driven mindset, willingness to learn, and interest in building production-grade systems and platforms used by real users.
• Experience with containerization, CI/CD, security best practices, or distributed systems is a plus but not required
