We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major international transformation programme focused on modernising a complex application landscape into a scalable, distributed and cloud-native architecture.

You'll play a central role in defining and governing the programme's target microservices architecture, supporting application migrations and ensuring solutions follow common architecture, security, privacy, infrastructure and cloud principles.

What you'll do

• Define and maintain target microservices architecture and integration patterns
• Lead architecture across Azure, AWS, Alibaba Cloud and hybrid environments
• Design and validate application modernisation and migration strategies
• Define API-first, data and event-driven architecture standards
• Establish appropriate API Gateway and messaging patterns
• Drive the transition from monolithic applications to loosely coupled services
• Validate non-functional requirements including scalability, resilience and performance
• Maintain architecture roadmaps and technology standards
• Work closely with engineering, DevOps, security and data teams
• Challenge and support external technology vendors

What we're looking for

• Strong experience in Solution Architecture
• Proven background in microservices transformation and application modernisation
• Strong understanding of distributed systems
• Multi-cloud architecture experience — Azure, AWS and/or Alibaba Cloud
• Deep knowledge of REST APIs, API Management, messaging and event-driven architecture
• Strong system integration background
• Knowledge of IAM concepts including SSO and RBAC
• Strong architecture governance and stakeholder management skills

Ideal background: Solution Architect / Cloud Architect / Integration Architect who has already participated in a major enterprise modernisation programme.

Working Model

• 🇵🇹 Portugal-based candidates only
• 🏠 Remote from Portugal
• 🕘 European working hours (CET/CEST)
• Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Portugal. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
