Chariot Claims

Is this job info correct?

Team: Operations Reports to: COO Location: Remote About Chariot Claims Chariot Claims is an AI claims agent that helps consumers get paid for every corporate violation impacting them—data breaches, privacy violations, antitrust, and more. We’ve processed 65,000+ claims , with projected consumer recovery of $75M+ . Chariot builds technology to challenge the status quo. We take bold swings at the system to ascertain truth from stories, even if that means drawing legal/PR fire from established actors who are territorial and profit from the status quo. As operators, we pride ourselves on our ethics, resilience, and humanity. With each turn, we emerge smarter, better prepared, and with more insiders who share our mission to build a better system. We’re already working with 20+ law firms , including several among the five most active complex litigation firms in the country. The Role You are the connective tissue between what stakeholders need and what our data operations team provides. There are often requirements that are undefined as we build new processes and flows. Your job is to turn those into scoped, executable work for our ops, data, and engineering teams; run it to delivery; and push back or escalate when a requirement doesn't hold up. This is a systems role. You will not be writing legal arguments, and you do not need a law degree or any legal background. What you need is the ability to look at a messy, high-volume, rule-constrained process and see the structure underneath it — the inputs, the dependencies, the failure modes, the gate that's missing. You will be the person who makes sure the thing counsel actually needs gets built correctly, on time, and without a defect in it, and that the second time we do it, it's easier than the first. What You'll Do Own requirements translation. Sit with external counsel and internal stakeholders to define what a deliverable actually requires and document it as a spec our teams can execute against. Run delivery end to end. Scope the work, sequence it across Data Ops, CS, and Engineering, track it in Linear, and hold the timeline. Surface slippage before it becomes a missed deadline. Interrogate requirements. Distinguish a hard legal constraint from a preference or an assumption. When something is ambiguous, unworkable, or under-specified, say so, propose alternatives, and route the question to the right expert rather than guessing. Serve as the account owner for counsel relationships. Be the single point of contact for a set of matters: status, blockers, open decisions, and what we need from them. Run recurring check-ins and produce the written status artifacts they rely on. Build and improve the pipeline. Design repeatable workflows and QA gates for recurring deliverables (demand letter batches, notice merges, evidence re-review, tranche delivery). Turn a one-off scramble into a documented process. Work the data directly. Query, validate, and reconcile claimant and evidence datasets. Spot the anomaly in a tranche before counsel does. Close capability gaps. Identify where tooling or automation would remove manual work, spec it, and partner with Engineering to get it built. What You'll Bring 4+ years in solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, technical program management, implementation, consulting, or business/technical operations — in a role where you owned delivery for a demanding external stakeholder. Systems thinking. You decompose a process into inputs, dependencies, and failure points by instinct. Given a workflow that breaks unpredictably, you find the structural cause rather than patching the symptom. Show us a process you designed or rebuilt and what it looked like before. Demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous, partially-specified ask and return a scoped plan. Comfort operating in a domain you may not start out knowing Strong data fluency: SQL or equivalent, comfort with large messy datasets, advanced spreadsheeting. Working comfort with operational tooling and AI. Excellent written communication. You can write a requirements doc, a status update to a partner at a law firm, and a Slack escalation, and get the register right for each. High tolerance for detail, and the discipline to build checks that catch it instead of relying on your own vigilance. In this domain, a formatting error in a notice is a legal defect. No law degree, bar admission, or prior legal experience required. Nice to Have Experience in legal tech, litigation support, e-discovery, compliance, claims administration, or a regulated industry with documentation-heavy delivery. Familiarity with arbitration, consumer protection, or class action mechanics. Light scripting (Python, TypeScript) for data manipulation and internal automation. Prior experience at an early-stage company where the process didn't exist yet. Why Join Now Massive greenfield to own the front door of the factory: the funnel and payments that get everyday people paid. Help scale holding corporations accountable ( in an era of unchecked corporate greed and weakening regulatory oversight ). Competitive salary, equity, and benefits package in a fast-growing, high-impact startup. Collaborative, smart, humble, mission-driven, high-vibes team that loves music. 2-4 off-sites per year in beautiful, cultural destinations; expenses covered for you and a +1.
