WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to partner with our Capital Delivery team and lead procurement across a growing portfolio of major infrastructure investments. This role is Full-time, Max-term contract for a period of two years and will provide an opportunity to move beyond transactional procurement and become a trusted advisor, driving commercial outcomes, influencing strategic decisions, and delivering value through innovative sourcing solutions. What you’ll do: Lead complex, high-value procurement activities end-to-end, from sourcing strategy and market engagement through to evaluation, negotiation, contract award and mobilisation, ensuring robust governance, compliance and probity throughout. Partner with the business to shape strategic sourcing outcomes across a significant capital works portfolio, developing and executing sourcing strategies that align with project objectives, organisational priorities, and long-term value creation. Apply market intelligence and commercial insight to understand supplier capabilities, industry trends and emerging risks, translating insights into innovative sourcing solutions and stronger business outcomes. Influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups, demonstrating strong communication, presentation and relationship management skills to build credibility and drive alignment in a complex environment. Support business transformation and procurement excellence by leveraging strategic procurement frameworks, panels and category strategies to improve efficiency, consistency and commercial performance. What we are looking for: Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience, Professional procurement qualifications, such as MCIPS, will be highly regarded. Demonstrated success leading complex procurement activities, including market engagement, commercial negotiations, contract execution, and supplier relationship management. Experience within construction, infrastructure and/or capital project environments is highly regarded. Exposure to digital, technology, or transformation-related procurement will also be viewed favourably. A consultative and solutions-focused approach, coupled with excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling you to engage confidently with a broad range of stakeholders. Commercially astute with a strong understanding of value creation, risk management, and supplier market dynamics, with the ability to articulate and deliver measurable business outcomes.
