Role Overview As a DevOps Engineer you will design, build, and operate cloud-native platforms and tooling that enable secure, and reliable delivery of software products. This role demands combination of software engineering skills with deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, automation, and observability to support microservices and data platforms running on AWS. You will collaborate closely with product teams, architects, and QA to embed DevOps practices early in the lifecycle and drive a culture of automation and continuous improvement. You should be ready to work independently as well as in a team. What will you do in this role: Design, implement, and operate cloud‑native infrastructure, platforms, and/or test frameworks on AWS (and other clouds where applicable). Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) to provision and manage environments consistently. Utilize systems and software life cycle working practices for software components and micro-services. Build and own CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions including automated testing, scanning, and controlled deployments. Automate deployments for backend microservices, MuleSoft APIs, and UI applications. Monitor and analyze cloud usage and costs, providing recommendations for improvements. Support containerized workloads and platform services (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, APIs, shared frameworks). Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry). Define SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets with development teams. Integrate security checks into pipelines (SAST, DAST, dependency and container image scanning). Apply IAM best practices and least-privilege policies in cloud environments. Partner with development, QA, and architecture teams to continuously improve DevOps standards and practices. What should you have: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience) 3-7 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or software/platform engineering roles. Preferred Skills: Primary Skills (Must have): Cloud platforms: strong experience with AWS services; solid understanding of cloud networking and security fundamentals. Infrastructure as Code: proficiency with Terraform and/or CloudFormation. CI/CD: hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and practices (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI). Containerization and orchestration: practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Observability and reliability: familiarity with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and incident response practices to maintain service availability and performance Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Strong collaboration and communication skills with a product‑ and customer‑centric mindset with a focus on quality, automation, and continuous improvement Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, with strong problem-solving skills. Secondary Skills (Nice to have): Experience with Azure. Test automation and frameworks (e.g., RobotFramework, PyTest) and/or building shared platforms and libraries. Working with REST APIs, databases/SQL, and modern web or backend development stacks. Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools (GPT, Copilot). Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), AWS and other DevOps-related certifications Experience with GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux) and Helm charts.
