Ocean Network Express Custom Field 1: USA - New Jersey Salary Range: $50,000 to $65,000 Location Rutherford, NJ; This position will follow a hybrid work-from-home/office model with at least three days in the office weekly Role Summary This position is responsible for the successful execution of the Vessel Closeout (VCO) process located in Rutherford, NJ. The specialist will efficiently reconcile port pairs with terminals to ensure that intended containers are loaded onto vessels with all necessary export requirements. Additionally, the role provides expertise on non-standard vessel closeout issues to both internal and external parties, researches and responds to routine and non-routine customer inquiries, and recommends solutions for specialized challenges. Responsibilities also include tracking containers within rail websites to facilitate advancing, rolling, and reducing shipments, and submitting reports to US Customs. The incumbent will track and trace shipper documentation required for vessel loading, collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Commercial teams, and report directly to the Supervisor of Vessel Close Out, SYM. Additional Responsibilities Strong knowledge of reefer, Dangerous Goods (DG), breakbulk shipments, and over-dimensional cargo Familiarity with export rail processes and procedures Solid understanding of U.S. Customs requirements and compliance Strong data-driven analytical and problem-solving skills Flexibility to work varied hours and shifts as operationally required Proven ability to be an accountable, reliable, and collaborative team member Core Required Skills and Competencies Strong cross-functional collaboration skills Proactive approach to continuous process improvement Excellent multitasking capabilities with the ability to prioritize workflows effectively Exceptional verbal and written communication skills High accuracy in data analysis and reporting Strong cognitive flexibility and mental agility Function Specific Skills Applies sound judgment, established procedures, and domain knowledge to daily decision-making Ability to remain calm, make clear and reasoned decisions under pressure, and adapt to a fluid environment Responds to internal and external customers in a clear, accurate, timely, and professional manner Exceptional attention to detail and high accuracy Strong solution-oriented and proactive mindset Commitment to fact-based decision-making Required Minimum Years Experience Minimum of 2 years of function-related experience (preferred) Required Minimum Education Bachelor's degree preferred.
