Earthjustice’s Public Affairs & Communications (“PAC”) team is accepting applications for two part-time interns for spring 2027. We are seeking undergraduate students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment. This is a paid position, and the successful candidate may work remotely within the U.S. The PAC team works closely with attorneys, policy staff, clients, and coalition partners to develop and implement strategic communications to support litigation and legislative advocacy in Earthjustice’s docket and build Earthjustice’s profile. The internship is designed as a structured learning opportunity that empowers the intern to apply communication skills, produce written materials, and gain practical experience in climate and public-interest communications. What You’ll Do Under the supervision of the Public Affairs & Communications Team Manager: Support the development and implementation of communications campaigns. Draft materials like press releases, media advisories, reporter pitches, op-eds, and more. Track news stories related to climate and energy issues and produce media reports on narrative trends, emerging risks, and opportunities. Proactively share insights and briefings on message testing, polling, research, and more. Collaborate across Earthjustice’s communications department, and work in partnership with coalitions and legal experts. Please note that the above serves as a guideline and that other duties may be assigned as part of the job’s requirements. What You’ll Bring Enrolled in a college/university program as a sophomore, junior, or senior during spring 2027. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and comfort navigating and learning new tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated commitment to Earthjustice’s values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership. Must commit to 15-18 hours/week. Compensation : Interns at Earthjustice receive an hourly rate that is considered taxable income. The spring 2027 hourly rate for undergraduate students is $19.61.
