As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will lead the design of complex components, create 3D CAD models, and create 2D drawings. You will create and track drawing changes in Teamcenter, prepare and deliver design reviews. You will document work for internal records and for regulatory & customer consumption. You will interact closely with project managers and analytical teams to meeting project deliverables and milestones. In addition, you will mentor less experience engineers and help define and improve processes , helping the team to improve Speed and Efficiency. The Control Systems (CS) division of Honeywell Aerospace is responsible for a wide variety of product lines including Actuation Systems, Pneumatic Controls, and Start Systems. This position would be a part of the Tempe Design team who supports these various product lines using state of the art software tools. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Tempe, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. Design engineering CAD-based modeling Design reviews – internal and external audiences Technical report writing Cost estimation Milestone compliance Process improvement Support to integrated supply chain for equipment in manufacture It is important to understand and adhere to Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing practices, act with speed and accuracy for on-time execution and apply six sigma thought processes and tools. You will listen to internal customer’s needs and support the organization in reducing cycle time and improving quality of deliverables. YOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 6+ years of mechanical design engineering experience 6+ years experience creating, revising, and validating 3D models and 2D drawings 6+ years experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing 6 + years experience with Teamcenter and NX CAD WE VALUE Ability to understand issues with legacy models, drawings, and casting tooling and effectively communicate problem and present solutions. Good knowledge of mechanical industry Mentor less-experienced engineers Passion for mechanism design and a curiosity of how things work Experience with electromechanical actuators Good interpersonal skills both written and verbal Strong organizational skills are needed to help keep track of multiple tasks and priorities Ambitious and able to work with little supervision, consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or necessitated by events Possess a thorough understanding of applicable design review manuals and best practices BENEFITS Beyond a performance-driven salary, you'll work alongside dedicated experts on technology that's advancing aviation.
