Saving children.® Job Description The Senior Advisor- Philanthropic is responsible for driving revenue through the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major outright gifts and complex gifts. This role focuses on building authentic relationships with high-net-worth individuals and their advisors, creating strategic engagement plans, and ensuring successful gift closures. The advisor will manage a portfolio of at least 150 high-potential prospects and employ data-driven strategies to achieve ambitious fundraising goals. This position will lead our major gifts fundraising efforts across Broward and Palm Beach Counties in South Florida and report to our East Florida and Puerto Rico team. Broward and Palm Beach Counties represent one of the nation's most affluent and philanthropically engaged regions, offering an exceptional opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to build meaningful relationships with high-capacity donors and significantly elevate our mission's impact. Key Responsibilities Strategic Donor Engagement: Develop and execute individualized moves management plans for each prospect, including engagement strategies, targeted dollar goals, and solicitation timelines. Ensure strategies advance donors toward gift closure. Portfolio Management: Grow and manage a portfolio of 150+ major gift prospects, with an emphasis on gifts of $100,000+. Schedule and complete personal visits and meaningful contacts, expanding outreach to multicultural high-wealth donors. Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize donor management software and analytics to track interactions, guide strategies, and produce accurate reports. Maintain meticulous documentation of donor communications and financial transactions. Goal Achievement: Analyze portfolio to optimize travel and time management. Meet or exceed performance metrics for significant contacts and solicitations as outlined in annual goals. Compliance & Stewardship: Exercise discretion and fiduciary responsibility in handling gifts. Adhere to ALSAC policies, Gift Acceptance guidelines, and submit exceptions to the Gift Acceptance Committee when necessary. Expert Knowledge: Stay current on tax laws, estate planning, and culturally relevant giving trends. Represent ALSAC-St. Jude with professionalism and deep knowledge of our mission, research, and patient care. Collaboration & Communication: Partner with internal teams to enhance enterprise-wide donor experiences. Participate in events, meetings, and presentations to community groups and corporate partners. Maintain a team-first mentality. Continuous Learning: Attend national and regional meetings, continuing education seminars, and stay informed on industry trends and best practices. Qualifications 6+ years of proven success in major gift fundraising or high-level sales. Bachelors degree preferred. Demonstrated ability to build authentic relationships with high-net-worth individuals and diverse communities. Strong planning, organizational, and portfolio management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including virtual and in-person presentations. Proficiency in donor management systems and data analysis. Ability to travel nationally, including evenings and weekends as needed. Candidates must reside within driving distance of Broward and Palm Beach Counties, Florida. This position is primarily remote; however, regular travel within the assigned territory for donor visits and events is required, along with occasional travel to the Doral office for team meetings.
