About this Position Product development chemist will focus on new product development for automotive applications, provide technical support to customers, and provide manufacturing scaleup support. Work well in the team environment and work collaboratively with cross functional teams. Understand automotive applications, market trends and customer needs. Ability to lead new product development projects independently. Self-starter with can do attitude. What you´ll do Leading and managing adhesive product development (ADP) projects including milestones and timelines. Full utilization of Albert system and Henkel digitalization initiatives. Collaborating with cross functional teams, IPM, marketing, sales, and manufacturing. Collaborating with customers and suppliers for innovative solutions. Presenting new product at customer meetings and conferences. Engaging and contributing Henkel adhesives and coatings platforms with sharing and learning. Lab operation, equipment, raw materials, safety, internal and external audits. Supervise contractors and interns for lab activities. What makes you a good fit Ph.D. or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or other relevant technical field is required. Will also consider a BS with 5+ years of industry experience. Project management training certification is preferred. Knowledge and experience with DOE or other experiment designing tools. Strong track record in new product development from concepts to commercial success. Knowledge and experience in acrylic/epoxy chemistry is preferred. Leading the new technologies/products development according to the market/customer needs. Management of development progress, like new product pilot and production scale up, product quality control, customer communication and audit, etc. Customer visits with sales team for customer training, new opportunities or troubleshooting for customer complaints. Information exchange/communication with global network for the technology development. Strong focus on safety and quality of work. Excellent verbal and presentation skills with experience presenting to top management, customers and public groups. Excellent problem-solving skills. Sufficient language skills in English.
