As our Senior Fullstack Software Engineer - Integrations & Panels, you will own the critical connections that make our platform indispensable. You'll build and refine integrations, ensuring Backlight feels like a native extension of our users' existing creative toolchains, directly impacting their daily workflows. Responsibilities Plan, develop, and maintain robust integrations between Backlight and external applications. Ensure integrations are performant, accessible, and feel like a natural extension of both Backlight and connected tools. Build necessary backend components, including endpoints and data mapping, to unblock the team. Critically evaluate third-party APIs, understand their constraints, and proactively monitor for changes. Lead code reviews, champion best practices in code quality and testing. Actively contribute technical insights and risk assessments during planning sessions. Mentor junior engineers and drive improvements in our frontend technology stack. Requirements We're looking for engineers who can bridge complex systems and deliver seamless user experiences. Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript. Proven ability to build and scale complex frontends consuming RESTful APIs, including third-party APIs with inherent constraints. Mastery of Git and GitHub, including branching and versioning strategies. Strong understanding of CSS frameworks and responsive design principles. A track record of solving complex production issues in a SaaS environment. Bonus points Experience building backend services to support frontend integrations. Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks and performance optimization tools.
