Overview
We’re looking for a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to join our engineering team and help us build scalable, secure, and efficient backend systems, with a particular focus on payment processing and financial flows. As the Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead the team in building the infrastructure and tools that power reliable, scalable, and secure engineering operations across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Build robust, easy-to-use infrastructure and tools that enable engineering teams to provision and operate services rapidly, consistently, and securely.
- Establish, maintain, and refine the monitoring and alerting systems that ensure the health, performance, and reliability of Functional Finance’s infrastructure
- Eventually own and lead Kubernetes migration and distribution
- Influence and educate the engineering organization to adopt new and improved architectural patterns.
- Provide robust documentation for use by engineers to promote self-service.
- Take ownership of our GCP platform, improving reliability, operability, and cost efficiency
- Contribute to core application working at the intersection of our python codebase and infrastructure stack
Qualifications & Skills
- 7+ years of applicable experience in Infrastructure engineering or DevOps
- Experience building infrastructure with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS
- Building, operating, and innovating clustering solutions for Kubernetes platforms
- Experience building web applications, ideally using Python, Postgres, and FastAPI
- Experience utilizing CI/CD platforms to automate provisioning infrastructure, software builds, tests, and releases.
- Experience building and maintaining scalable high availability applications.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or similar.
- Empathy to support the needs of software engineers.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated compensation range $175,000-$225,000. Actual compensation may vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, internal equity, alignment with market data, and possibly applicant’s geographic location.
