Date Posted: 2026-07-09 Country: United Kingdom Location: UK Home Based, Home Based, United Kingdom Senior Instructional Designer Overview The Senior Instructional Designer leads the design, development and continuous improvement of innovative learning solutions applying modern instructional design and agile practices. This role partners with business leaders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to assess learning needs and deliver engaging, scalable programs that improve performance and support organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and learning methodologies consultant who builds strong partnerships across L&D, HR, Business units and Operations. Key Responsibilities Learning Strategy and Needs Analysis · Participate in needs assessments to identify performance gaps and define learning objectives · Consult with stakeholders to align learning solutions with business priorities · Recommend the best delivery formats (e-learning, ILT/VILT, blended, microlearning, social learning, job aids, etc.) Instructional Design and Development · Design and develop high-quality learning programs using Agile, ADDIE, or other instructional design models · Create storyboards, scripts, facilitator guides, learner guides, e-learning modules, simulations and assessments · Apply adult learning principles, design thinking and accessibility standards to create effective experiences · Coordinate the design of learning journey pathways and capability frameworks Tools and Technology · Develop digital learning assets using tools such as Articulate 360, Synthesia, Vyond, BranchTrack, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, VR eyeglasses and LMS platforms Workday and Axonify · Translation and localization of learning products to multiple languages · Partner with LMS administration to upload and test learning content · Leverage AI and other emerging technology to enhance learning effectiveness Agile and Project Management · Manages multiple learning products simultaneously from concept to deployment using agile methodologies · Breakdown complex learning solutions into manageable, incremental deliverables · Scope projects, create timelines and coordinate with SMEs, stakeholders and vendors · Collaborate with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environment, ensuring transparent communication and alignment · Ensure deliverables meet quality, brand and compliance standards Evaluation and Continuous Improvement · Create measurement strategies to evaluate learning effectiveness using Kirkpatrick and ROI models · Analyze data and learner feedback to make evidence-based improvements · Maintain documentation and standardization across learning products Qualifications · 3-5+ years of experience in instructional design or learning experience design · Strong portfolio demonstrating e-learning, blended solutions, and iterative/ agile design · Advanced proficiency in authoring tools such as Articulate360, Vyond, Synthesia, visual design tools and AI · Strong communication, project management and stakeholder management skills · Proven experience applying adult learning theory, learning science and instructional design models Key competencies · Agile mindset and adaptability · Strategic / design / user centric thinking · Collaboration and stakeholder management · Project Management · Communication written and verbal · Problem-solving · Creativity and innovation · Data-driven mindset · Attention to detail If you live in a city, chances are we will give you a lift or play a role in keeping you moving every day.
