Job Summary: The Sr. Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing by reviewing payroll quality reports, calculating and distributing employee payments, and resolving payroll discrepancies through detailed data analysis. The position manages payroll-related cases, adjustments, garnishments, levies, court orders, refunds, returned checks, and unclaimed property processing while coordinating with creditors, attorneys, and internal stakeholders as needed. Additionally, the role supports audit documentation requests, maintains compliance with payroll policies and procedures, and provides operational support across payroll functions. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Processing & Administration Review payroll quality reports to ensure payroll is processed accurately. Process payroll information by overseeing the process of calculating, posting, and disbursing payments according to the payroll schedule. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures. Payroll Analysis & Issue Resolution Resolves payroll variances by collecting and analyzing large data sets. Process CRM cases as assigned, including payroll adjustments. Research and process returned checks. Unclaimed Property/Uncashed Checks Processing: research and process payments. Garnishment & Compliance Administration Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments. Respond to garnishment or court orders by the requested dates. Communicate with creditors and attorneys to gather necessary documentation and resolve any discrepancies. Process garnishment refunds. Audit, Documentation & Case Management Receive, process, and respond to requests for audit documentation. Create cases utilizing case management systems, both internally and externally. Operational Support & Collaboration Support functional areas with other duties as assigned. Required Skills: Moderate experience with Microsoft Office 365 toolset, specifically Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Concatenate functions), Word, Outlook, Teams Ability to navigate between multiple applications Attention to detail Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills; listening verbal and written Ability to meet or exceed productivity and quality expectations Ability to adapt to change in processes, systems etc. Ability to work virtually under minimal supervision, prioritize work and meet deadlines Qualifications: Education: Associate Degree in Finance related field preferred. Substantial professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Experience: 1+ years of payroll, accounting, banking, operations, or clerical experience Working Conditions: Remote - US Compensation Range: $20.00 - $22.00 hourly This role is eligible for a base salary within the posted range. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation may vary for positions based in high cost-of-labor markets.
