The Strategic Sourcing Specialist II New Product Introduction (NPI) is a pivotal role responsible for establishing and managing the supply chain for all new products from concept through mass production. This role drives early engagement with Engineering and Product Development teams to influence design decisions for cost, quality, and manufacturability (DFx), and leads the sourcing, selection, negotiation, and qualification of strategic suppliers to meet NPI objectives. 1. NPI Sourcing Strategy & Execution * Lead Sourcing Activities: Own the end-to-end sourcing process for all new components, materials, and services required for NPI projects. * Early Engagement: Collaborate early and often with R&D, Product Management, and Engineering to understand product roadmaps, requirements, and specifications, ensuring sourcing alignment from the concept phase. * Supplier Identification: Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify, evaluate, and qualify potential new suppliers that meet technology, capacity, quality, and cost targets for new products. * DFx Leadership: Act as the voice of the supply chain, driving Design for Cost (DFC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Supply Chain (DFSC) principles into new product designs. * Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks specific to NPI, including single-source risks, capacity constraints, and long lead-time material dependencies. 2. Commercial Negotiation & Contract Management * Cost Management: Create and manage cost models, targeting cost reductions throughout the product lifecycle, especially during NPI. * Negotiation: Handle RFQs and competitive bids. Negotiate pricing, lead times, inventory, and SLAs. * Contracting: Draft, review, and manage supply agreements, NDAs, and SOWs with Legal. 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management * Project Leadership: Oversee sourcing for NPI projects and ensure materials and suppliers are qualified for engineering builds and product launches. * Supplier Readiness: Oversee part qualification (PPAP/FAIs) and confirm suppliers meet volume and quality standards. * Communication: Deliver clear, regular updates on sourcing status, risks, and recommended actions to leaders and project teams. Required Qualifications * Three years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain roles, with a focus on New Product Introduction (NPI). * Proven expertise in cost analysis, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management. * Strong technical acumen with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. * Experience collaborating with global contract manufacturers and suppliers in Electronics, Metals, Plastics commodity areas. Preferred Skills * Experience with a formal NPI process (Stage-Gate or similar methodology). * Deep knowledge of commodity markets and global supply chain dynamics relevant to the product line. * Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and e-sourcing tools. * Six sigma Green Belt or Black belt certification is a plus #LI-Onsite
