CoreSuite 2.0 : CoreSuite 2.0 is Lynx’s safety-critical GPU for graphics enablement framework designed for mission-critical edge computing systems. It provides hardware-accelerated graphics, visualization, and video processing capabilities that can be certified for high-assurance systems. Services : Lynx Services is Lynx’s professional services organization that helps customers design, integrate, certify, deploy, and maintain safety- and security-critical systems. It supports industries like aerospace, defense, automotive, and industrial computing through consulting, engineering, integration, and lifecycle support, reducing development risk and accelerating certification in standards-driven, mission-critical environment. The Role : The candidate will work as part of a team to design, implement, test, and document software in our MOSA.ic platform, focusing on our LynxElement and LynxOS-178 RTOSs. Key Responsibilities: Architect, design, and implement network protocols and services (e.g., IPv4/IPv6, UDP/TCP, IPsec, TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) in an embedded environment. Develop and maintain software for embedded systems, ensuring hard real-time performance and reliability. Conduct thorough hypervisor, RTOS, and network performance analysis and optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with network protocols and application stacks. Troubleshoot and resolve low-level network and software issues, distinguishing hardware from software challenges. Enhance the efficiency, scalability, and stability of networking solutions through innovative development and optimization. Develop application-level POSIX/ARCINC 653 programming solutions. Work on a variety of other RTOS and tools related technologies. Supporting the generation and review of certification data. Perform additional job duties as assigned. Education & Experience: BS/MS in Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering 5+ years of relevant experience required. Proficiency in the following: C Programming using common APIs such as POSIX and ARINC 653. Experience with networking protocols such as: TCP, UDP, IPv6, IPv4, IPSec and TSN. Experience on at least one RTOS (e.g., LynxOS-178, VxWorks, QNX, FreeRTOS) or Linux kernel space development. Experience with performance analysis (perf, ftrace) and packet capture (tcpdump/Wireshark) tools. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software and networking challenges. Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git and Gerrit. Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps). Scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages. Experience working with AI tools such as CoPilot, Codex, or Claude Code to develop production quality software. Nice to have: Experience developing Linux device drivers and bootloaders. Assembly code programming (x86 or ARM). Familiarity with DO-178C lifecycle development standards. Contributions to open-source communities. Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and kernel-level troubleshooting. Familiarity with real-time operating systems, hypervisors, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Xen, QEMU). Familiarity with concurrency on multicore SMP/AMP.
