Job Title: Senior Software Test Development Engineer Job Description The Senior Software Test Development Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining end-to-end automated tests that support software and firmware integrations within medical device systems. The role involves enhancing an existing Python automation framework, primarily interacting with mobile applications and connected product environments. Responsibilities Develop, execute, and maintain end-to-end automated tests. Enhance existing Python-based test automation capabilities. Test integrations across software, firmware, mobile applications, and server platforms. Analyze automated test failures and support root-cause investigations. Record and track defects using the team’s bug-tracking system. Collaborate with software development, test development, and verification and validation teams. Review software requirements, system requirements, and design specifications. Update automated tests and test protocols as requirements change. Execute regression testing and validation activities. Create and maintain requirements traceability and test coverage documentation. Follow internal software development, cybersecurity, quality, and validation procedures. Use approved AI-assisted coding tools to support efficient test development and execution. Essential Skills 5+ years of software development, software testing, or software test development experience. Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java. Demonstrated experience developing automated software tests. Experience working within an established automation framework. Proven understanding of software testing and software quality assurance practices. Ability to analyze failures and collaborate with development teams on root-cause investigations. Experience reviewing software requirements, system requirements, and design specifications. Experience developing or modifying automated regression tests as requirements change. Familiarity with mobile application testing on Android and/or iOS. API or server communication testing experience. Experience testing software integrated with firmware, hardware, or connected devices. Use of source control tools such as Git. Strong written communication and software documentation skills. Effective communication with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders. Comfortable learning and leveraging AI-assisted software development tools. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related engineering discipline. Additional Skills & Qualifications Medical device experience is helpful but not required. Work Environment This is a remote software engineering and test automation environment with a standard schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, generally aligned to 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. through 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The role involves approximately 60% hands-on automation development and coding, and 40% meetings, training, documentation, and team collaboration. Work involves an end-to-end testing environment involving mobile applications, software, firmware, server platforms, and connected medical products, with an existing Python automation framework and test suite.
