DLA Piper is, at its core, bold, exceptional, collaborative and supportive. Our people are the backbone, heart and soul of our firm. Wherever you are in your professional journey, DLA Piper is a place you can engage in meaningful work and grow your career. Let’s see what we can achieve. Together. Summary Join a growing, high-impact Strategic Finance team where Market Analytics, AI, FP&A, and Finance Transformation come together to deliver insights for executive decision-making. This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional who wants to do more than produce reports. As a Strategic Senior Financial Analyst focused on market analytics, you will help shape long-range planning, market intelligence, competitive benchmarking analysis, and executive decision support for a global firm. You will work at the intersection of FP&A, strategic finance, market analytics, financial modeling, forecasting, benchmarking, data analytics, and business performance insights—turning complex peer and industry information into clear recommendations that influence leaders and drive growth. You will join an established and expanding team that is investing in its future and in the development of its people. This role offers meaningful exposure to executive leadership, operational business owners, and cross-functional finance partners, along with the opportunity to contribute to global transformation efforts that are modernizing how finance insights are generated and delivered. For candidates who are energized by strategic problem-solving, professional growth, mentorship, and the chance to build a visible career path within a high-performing organization, this role offers both immediate impact and long-term advancement potential. This is more than a traditional analyst position. It is a career-building opportunity to join a growing Strategic Finance function with strong momentum, targeted mentorship, and intentional professional development. You will have the chance to partner with senior leaders, build relationships across the business, contribute to finance modernization and AI-enabled transformation initiatives, and expand your experience in a role designed to create visibility, progression, and long-term opportunity. Location This position can sit in our Reston or Short Hills office and offers a hybrid work schedule. Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert on global and domestic law firm performance drivers, macroeconomic trends, and industry dynamics, translating external developments into clear financial implications and actionable business insights that support strategic planning, forecasting, profitability analysis, and long-range decision-making. Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of peer survey and benchmarking data submissions, including stakeholder coordination, deadline management, data acquisition, validation, analysis, and executive-ready reporting. Partner with finance, strategy and practice group stakeholders to compile data for timely submissions and then develop analyses and reporting that improve visibility into business performance, trends, risks, and opportunities. Incorporate market-based lagging and leading indicators into results, forecast, and planning stories with the broader FP&A team. Support executive leadership with forward-looking market intelligence, scenario analysis, and benchmarking insights that inform growth strategy and resource allocation. Help build and maintain scalable reporting processes, documentation, and a single source of truth library for survey and benchmark information. Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, automate reporting, strengthen data governance, and enhance analytical tools. Contribute to finance transformation efforts, including the design and adoption of AI-enabled and automation-based solutions that improve speed, consistency, and insight generation. Serve as a trusted resource on benchmarking methodology, assumptions, data quality, and interpretation for cross-functional stakeholders. Deliver ad hoc financial analysis, business cases, and executive materials that synthesize findings into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders. Desired Skills Experience working with external market surveys, benchmark datasets, or complex performance data to support strategic or financial decision-making. Background in a professional services, legal, consulting, or similarly complex business environment. Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, SQL, Python, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Claude, or similar analytics and automation platforms is a plus.
