We specialize in medical registry abstraction, including current case abstraction, backlog completion, reporting, and other specialized services that help our clients meet their clinical and quality goals through outsourcing. Position Requirements 100% remote position Minimum of 5 years of current STS Abstraction experience Strong knowledge and experience working with STS Registry data Ability to pull and generate reports Ability to review reports, identify and correct errors, and make necessary corrections Reliable, high-speed internet connection required Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week Strong attention to detail and ability to meet client deadlines Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage assigned workloads effectively Qualifications Qualifications & Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an RN or BSN degree Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse Minimum of 5 years of current STS Abstraction experience Prior experience in the position or role being applied for Healthcare credential appropriate to the candidate’s area of education and experience Additional healthcare information, abstraction, or coding credentials are highly desirable Preferred Skills & Experience Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) Ability to pull and generate reports Ability to identify, research, and correct errors Experience abstracting critical medical data for reporting and quality measures Strong understanding of medical record review and data abstraction processes Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including various applications and web-based platforms Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, web browsers, email, and electronic health record systems Familiarity with technologies used in remote healthcare environments, including Citrix, data collection and abstraction systems, encoders, and web-based applications Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy General Requirements The ideal candidate must possess the following characteristics: Commitment and Reliability: Able to consistently dedicate the required time and meet established deadlines and obligations to HIA Communication: Excellent communication skills with a high level of responsiveness to team members and client contacts Computer Literacy: Comfortable working with a variety of computer systems and technology, including: Microsoft Excel Web browsers Email Electronic Health Records (EHRs) Citrix and other secure remote-access platforms Data collection and abstraction applications Encoders and web-based applications Independent Work: Motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment while also contributing effectively as part of a team Professionalism: Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and tact when communicating with team members, clients, and other contacts Self-Maintenance of Skills: Responsible for maintaining required credentials and staying current with applicable abstraction and coding rules, manuals, standards, and guidelines Attention to Detail: Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and consistency when reviewing medical records and abstracting data Dependability: Reliable, responsible, and committed to fulfilling work obligations Background Screening: May be required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening Educational Requirements The ideal candidate must possess a college degree or formal education from one of the following: An accredited nursing program A CAHIIM-accredited program Another accredited healthcare-related program Candidates should also possess a healthcare credential associated with their field of study. Additional healthcare information management, abstraction, coding, or registry credentials are desirable. Subcontractor Status & Hours This is a 1099 PRN Subcontractor position. The selected candidate must be willing and able to consistently work approximately 15–20 hours per week on a regular basis. The position is 100% remote and requires a reliable, high-speed internet connection and the ability to maintain a suitable remote work environment.
