Student Success Facilitator Manager Position Type: Full-Time Contract (1-year) Position Status: New Position Location: Hybrid Reports To: Director, Learner Success and Service Delivery (DLSSD) Hourly Rate: $36.81, plus 4% vacation About FNTI (First Nations Technical Institute) FNTI is an Indigenous-owned and governed post-secondary institution dedicated to serving Indigenous learners. Established in 1985, FNTI has graduated over 4,000 students through certificate, diploma, and degree programs delivered in partnership with Ontario’s colleges and universities. Position Summary The Student Success Facilitator Manager provides strategic leadership, supervision, and operational oversight of the Student Success Facilitator (SSF) team. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Staff Supervision Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for SSF team; Recruit, interview, onboard, orient, train, and support new SSF's; Coordinate employee offboarding processes; Conduct meetings, and performance discussions; Develop staff schedules and workload assignments; Support professional development planning and identify training opportunities; Foster a positive, culturally safe, inclusive, and collaborative team environment that reflects FNTI's values; Monitor team performance and service standards, implementing quality improvement initiatives . Operational Oversight Oversee learner support services and ensure consistency; Develop, implement, review, and improve operational procedures, workflows, and service delivery models; Coordinate coverage during staff absences. Learner Success and Case Management Provide guidance and consultation to SSF's with support from the DLSSD ; Support the resolution of sensitive learner concerns while ensuring trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and learner-centred practices; Monitor learner engagement, retention, and wellness indicators ; Collaborate with FNTI staff and community partners to ensure coordinated learner support; Oversee the planning and implementation of learner engagement initiatives and events. Strategic Planning and Continuous Improvement Participate in departmental planning; Analyze learner success data, identify trends, and implement initiatives to improve learner satisfaction; Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for leadership as required; Contribute to budget planning and departmental operations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education , Social Work, Indigenous Studies, Human Services, Psychology, Community Development, Adult Education, Leadership, or a related field. A combination of education, training, and significant related experience may be considered equivalent. Minimum five years of progressive responsible experience supporting learners, preferably within an Indigenous post-secondary environment. Demonstrated knowledge of trauma informed culturally responsive and learner-centered practices. Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing teams. Experience developing and implementing operational procedures, service standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Experience managing complex learner situations and coordinating multi-disciplinary supports. Strong conflict resolution, coaching, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze data and prepare operational reports Experience exercising sound judgement in complex learner situations. Demonstrated proficiency with learner information systems, Microsoft office suite, and virtual learning platforms. Considerable lived, practical, and relevant working experience of Indigenous issues Conditions of Employment Willing and able to travel occasionally and work overtime as required . Successful candidates must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Valid Ontario driver's license. Must be legally entitled to work in Ontario, Canada. FNTI is an inclusive employer.
