Role Description The Study Abroad Counselor role is a remote position focused on guiding prospective students through every stage of the international education process. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions to understand students’ academic profiles and career goals, recommending suitable countries, programs, and universities, and explaining admission requirements and timelines. The counselor will support students with application documentation, SOP/LOR guidance, scholarship and financial planning options, and coordination with partner universities and internal teams. The role also involves assisting with visa requirements, pre-departure preparation, and follow-up communication to ensure a smooth transition to the chosen destination. The counselor is expected to maintain accurate records, use CRM tools, and uphold a student-first, transparent advising approach.
Qualifications

• Ability to provide student counseling and guidance, including understanding academic backgrounds, career goals, and program fit.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to explain complex admission, visa, and financial processes clearly.
• Experience or familiarity with international education systems, study abroad processes, and popular destinations such as Europe, the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and other global regions.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, deadlines, and documentation efficiently.
• Comfort with remote work tools, CRM or student management systems, and online meeting platforms.
• Ability to work ethically and transparently, maintaining trust and upholding a student-first approach.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business, International Relations, or a related field; prior experience in study abroad counseling or admissions is an advantage.
• Cultural awareness and sensitivity, with a commitment to supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
