CAD Technician – Substation Protection & Control (P&C) What You'll Do ENTRUST, a Leidos company, is seeking a CAD Technician to support the development of Protection & Control (P&C) design packages for electric utility substation projects. This role will work closely with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce detailed construction drawings used for new substations, upgrades, and modernization projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience creating P&C drawings utilizing AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and understands substation design documentation, including protection schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings, Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain Protection & Control drawing packages for utility substation projects. Create and revise: Protection schematics AC/DC elementary diagrams Wiring and interconnection diagrams Panel layouts and elevations Cable schedules and conduit drawings Relay one-lines and logic diagrams Incorporate engineering redlines and client comments into construction deliverables. Maintain drawing standards, revision histories, and document control requirements. Coordinate with P&C engineers, physical designers, and project managers to ensure complete and accurate deliverables. Verify existing drawings and update as-built documentation. Support QA/QC reviews and ensure compliance with client drafting standards. Assist in the preparation of drawing packages for permitting, construction, and field implementation. Required Qualifications Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in Drafting, Design Technology, CAD Technology, or related discipline. 3+ years of drafting/design experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Experience supporting electric utility, transmission, distribution, or substation projects. Ability to develop and modify detailed electrical drawings and schematics. Knowledge of engineering drawing practices, drafting standards, and document control processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Benefits & Salary This position pays between $34,000 and $51,000 annually and is an exempt position. The specific amount within this range will be influenced by the work location and various factors, such as internal equity, professional skills, work experience, and pertinent education or training. Benefits offered include company sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement, voluntary life, disability, critical illness, accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
