Requisition ID # 173872 Job Category: Maintenance / Construction / Operations Job Level: Supervisor Business Unit: Energy Delivery Work Type: Onsite Job Location: Salida Department Overview Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. In its entirety, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response. The PG&E Gas Construction Management Team within Gas Operations provides construction management and inspection oversight over contractor performed and applicant installed work. Construction Management ensures projects are constructed safely and efficiently, with clear objectives, proper authorizations, procedures and documentation, and with assigned resources to meet scope, schedule, cost and quality commitments while maintaining clear communications to all stakeholders. Position Summary Gas T&D Operations Leadership is responsible for managing teams directly or indirectly involved in operations & maintenance of the gas transmission and distribution system including completing all unplanned, emergent work and all mandated program work. Oversight of personnel performing maintenance work, short-cycle construction work, I&R activities and all mandated programs. Manage teams that work on: Complete all unplanned, emergent work Execute the required Operations & Maintenance Plan leak survey, leak repair, I&R, locate & mark, corrosion remediation, and patrolling work as listed in the annual workplan. Document completed work to share with Engineering to update Enterprise Systems (GIS) Make minor adjustments to achieve the workplan as defined by the Asset & Resource Management (<10% variation to original plan) Communicate concerns regarding scope, schedule, and cost to Resource Management for adjustment Manage pressure regulation, odorization, instrumentation assets and inform Asset Management of future needs to incorporate into the yearly Asset Plan Address emergency situations that arise as a first responder Forecast Emergency Work, Maintenance Work, Leak Survey and Leak Repair. Emergency response & fulfillment of Incident Commander role Develop work force strategy (internal & external) Inspect & validate work All leaders provide safe gas services while maintaining compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements. Leaders demonstrate safety leadership and promote a safety culture among all employees for themselves, customers, and the general public. Contribute toward Gas Safety Excellence goals by improving safety, reliability and affordability for one or more asset families and one or more life cycles. This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. A reasonable salary range is: Bay Area Minimum: $126,000. Bay Area Maximum: $200,000. &/OR California Minimum: $120,000. California Maximum: $190,000. This position is a DOT (Department of Transportation) covered classification and is subject to random drug and/or alcohol screening Responsibilities Manages a team a team of gas craft employees, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements and alignment with company values. Serves customers by providing timely completion of gas maintenance, gas construction, transmission & regulatory work, and or gas damage control. Ensures that work is executed safely including personal and public safety metrics Manages emergency responses to all requests including equipment maintenance, ensuring employees respond in a timely manner and provide total quality service. Monitors compliance to standards and specifications, to achieve high quality work the first time done. Develops action plans to address deficiencies in process or employee skill/knowledge and tracks the progress of those plans. Ensures work is executed within scope, schedule and cost expectations Identifies and pursues productivity improvements and implements work practices to reduce operating costs while meeting corporate and regulatory compliance. Completes and maintains all work documentation and/or reporting. Communicates business goals and objectives to the work group and holds all accountable to same. Develops the business knowledge and technical skills of all field employees. Fosters teamwork within work group and across all company functions. Ensures that customers' needs and expectations are met; ensures clear, professional, proactive communication with customers. Fully implements and holds subordinates accountable for safety best practices and adherence to the safety accountability model. Ensures full compliance with the Injury & Illness Prevention Program, working closely with area Safety Program Coordinators.Facilitates weekly team meetings/tailboards and adjunct training as needed. Oversees both projects and 2nd party contracting within the area of responsibility Ensures mandated compliance dates and regulations are met Reviews leak investigation documents and leak survey maps for accuracy and completeness. Ensures compliance of: 1) leak grading and 2) L&M & Leak Survey tools and equipment as required by the CPUC. Leads root-cause investigations on all PG&E at-fault dig-ins and/or reportable events. Monitors the Gas Operator Qualification (OQ) Program and ensures compliance. Maintains craft qualification records for employees, such as welding and plastic fusion as required by CPUC. Ensures all associated paperwork and work packages are accurate. Reviews all department maintenance documents for accuracy and completeness prior to filing for future reference or for audit purposes. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: •High School Diploma or equivalent •Minimum 5 years’ field experience in gas or electric distribution construction. •Valid California driver’s license or the ability to acquire one within 10 days of hire Desired qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management •5 or more years’ experience in gas or electric distribution construction •Working Knowledge of Oracle Unifier, ProntoForms, Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel •Demonstrated abilities in Cost accounting/ Inspection/Contract administration •Demonstrated knowledge of Distribution Gas Pipeline & Distribution Electric Substructure Standards and Construction •Ability to perform cost and project scheduling •Knowledge of PG&E Gas & Electric Distribution and Applicant Installed Standards •Ability to interpret, create and validate project schedules. •Ability to interpret contract documents, adequately respond to RFI’s, prepare estimates for and evaluate Change Order requests, evaluate and quantify progress on projects.
