Overview Make an Impact! At McGraw Hill we create best-in-class, next-generation learning platforms that are used by millions of students and educators worldwide from kindergarten through graduate school. Our goal is to accelerate student success through intuitive and effective learning tools and content that maximize a teacher’s time and a student’s learning experience. We do all of this in a supportive, collaborative environment where you can grow your career in a way that fits into your life. How can you make an impact? McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for a Supervisor, Instructional Designer, 6-12 ELA for our K-12 division literacy programs. You will be a valued leader within a collaborative group of Instructional Designers, closely partnering with teams focused on content, product management, and creative media — while also overseeing a network of external vendors to ensure quality and alignment across projects. As part of this team, you will drive the development of robust digital programs, interactive educational materials, and multimedia learning solutions in a variety of formats that are used by millions of educators and students every day. The Supervisor, Instructional Designer, 6-12 ELA is a digitally savvy curriculum and instructional design expert — responsible and accountable for leading a high-performing team that delivers research-informed, high-quality content tailored to the evolving needs of today's 6-12 literacy learners and the educators who champion them. This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 03/31/2027. What you will be doing: Supervise a dynamic team of Instructional Designers, guiding their efforts to create impactful educational content while serving as a mentor who offers constructive feedback and fosters growth and development. Build bridges across teams and functions, partnering with diverse groups to develop digital programs from inception to execution, leveraging expertise across disciplines. Encourage a culture of creativity and experimentation, fostering an environment where new ideas flourish, are refined, and drive meaningful outcomes. Oversee an extensive network of external vendors, ensuring alignment with project objectives and maintaining consistent quality standards. Make informed decisions to allocate resources effectively and manage operational initiatives for tactical and strategic delivery. Create an environment where diverse perspectives are valued, and trust and appreciation thrive, driving talent management initiatives that support current and future team success. Maintain awareness of industry trends and market dynamics, leveraging external networks and perspectives to inform strategic decisions and enhance products and services. Maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and colleagues, facilitating alignment, articulating customer needs, and driving collective success. We’re looking for someone with: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, English Language Arts, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field required. 4+ years of experience working in digital content development, including the creation of teaching and learning materials within the education sector. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design research, theory, and application, with a proven track record of creating and implementing interactive educational materials, multimedia, and learning games. Some prior experience managing and leading teams, with the ability to guide and support others toward shared goals. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines and budgets, ensuring quality and on-time delivery. Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS, with some experience using authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), and content management systems (CMS). Some ability to create and visualize animated and interactive content, bringing engaging learning experiences to life. Why work for us? The work you do at McGraw Hill will be work that matters. We are collectively designing content that will build the future of education. Play your part and experience a sense of fulfilment that will inspire you to even greater heights. The pay range for this position is between $82,100 - $85,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
