Overall Purpose The Supervisor Quality HEDIS Stars is responsible for the day-to-day direction of a team of Regional Quality Coordinators supporting HEDIS and CMS Star Ratings performance across assigned markets and provider groups. This role translates quality strategy set by regional and national leadership into executable workplans, assignments, and daily activity, and holds the team accountable to gap closure, documentation, and data capture targets. The Supervisor performs routine analytics on measure performance and team productivity, interprets results to identify trends and barriers, and represents regional quality operations in recurring health plan meetings, preparing and presenting performance updates to internal leadership and health plan partners. This position requires a self-starter who operates with limited day-to-day direction and promotes our mission of helping people live healthier lives by ensuring quality initiatives are executed accurately, consistently, and on time. Work Location & Schedule This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. Candidates will follow our hybrid schedule, working in office three days per week. Essential Functions Supervise a team of Regional Quality Coordinators, including workload assignment, scheduling, day-to-day direction, and performance coaching. Operationalize regional and national quality strategy by converting leadership direction into clear workplans, assignments, and daily team activity. Monitor gap closure production and data capture at the coordinator, provider group, and measure level to ensure assigned targets are met on schedule. Perform routine analytics in Excel and standard reporting tools, including pivot tables, trending, rate calculations, and productivity tracking. Interpret performance results to identify trends, outliers, and barriers, and translate findings into practical next steps for the team. Escalate performance risks, data discrepancies, and resource constraints to the Regional Manager of Quality with supporting detail and recommended actions. Support HEDIS and CMS Star Ratings improvement by coordinating gap lists, chart chase activity, and supplemental data collection across assigned provider groups. Ensure timely and accurate completion of team reports, trackers, and documentation to meet internal and contractual deadlines. Serve as the first point of contact for coordinator questions regarding measure specifications, documentation requirements, and workflow. Train and onboard new Regional Quality Coordinators and maintain job aids, standard operating procedures, and workflow documentation. Coordinate provider office outreach, scheduling support, and follow-up activity to close open care gaps. Prepare routine performance summaries and supporting materials for provider meetings and internal leadership reviews. Update and maintain recurring PowerPoint performance decks with current results, and present findings, trends, and workplan updates to internal leadership and health plan partners. Attend and represent quality in recurring health plan meetings, preparing materials in advance, documenting follow-up items, and completing assigned action items on schedule. Partner with market operations, analytics, and health plan liaisons to resolve data discrepancies and missing documentation. Monitor team adherence to HIPAA, PHI handling requirements, and internal quality and documentation standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of HEDIS, CMS Star Ratings, and NCQA quality measure specifications and gap closure workflows. Ability to operationalize strategy by turning leadership direction into workplans, assignments, and measurable team activity. Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, filtering, sorting, lookup formulas, and basic calculations, to build and maintain performance trackers. Ability to read, interpret, and explain quality performance reports, including identifying trends, outliers, and gap closure opportunities. Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate a remote or hybrid team, including workload balancing and performance follow-up. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including the ability to independently build and update PowerPoint performance decks, and the ability to learn EMR and population health platforms. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present performance information to providers, office staff, internal leadership, and health plan partners. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Self-starter who operates independently with limited direction, anticipates needs, takes ownership of assigned work, and follows through on commitments without prompting. Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare quality, HEDIS/Stars, care gap closure, provider engagement, or a related healthcare operations role. Minimum 1 year of experience in a lead, senior coordinator, or supervisory capacity, or equivalent demonstrated experience directing staff and workflows. Experience working with quality performance reports, gap lists, or member-level data in Excel. Experience communicating performance expectations and results to staff, providers, office managers, or external partners. Preferred: Experience in managed care, value-based care, or a physician practice setting. Familiarity with EMR systems, supplemental data collection, or chart abstraction workflows. Experience participating in health plan, payer, or joint operating meetings. Education Required: High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field. Licenses Preferred: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), medical assistant, coding, or similar healthcare-related certification. Travel Market travel, up to 20% About P3 People.
