The Fountain Group is a national staffing firm and we are currently seeking a Supply Planning Transformation Lead for a prominent client of ours. This position is in REMOTE with 15% - 35% Travel. Details for the position are as follows:


Supply Planning Transformation Lead

Location: United States - EST & CST Time Zones Only (Remote)

Duration: 24-Month Contract

Pay: $80-85/hour W2

Travel: 15-35% (Regular travel to manufacturing sites)


Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Supply Planning Transformation Lead to drive the deployment of a global Future Focused Planning program across a network of manufacturing sites. This individual will lead a team of Supply Planning Transformation Specialists while partnering with senior site leadership to implement a new Target Operating Model (TOM), standardize supply planning processes, and ensure successful organizational adoption.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring extensive experience in Big Pharma supply chain planning, multi-site manufacturing operations, people leadership, and enterprise transformation initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment of a new Supply Planning Target Operating Model (TOM) across multiple manufacturing sites within an assigned global region.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Supply Planning Transformation Specialists, providing day-to-day leadership and performance support.
  • Drive successful implementation of standardized planning processes while ensuring site readiness, user adoption, and long-term sustainability.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Site Leadership to remove deployment barriers and achieve program milestones.
  • Oversee deployment timelines, risk management, milestone tracking, and executive status reporting.
  • Champion structured change management initiatives to support new planning processes and ways of working.
  • Collaborate with global program leadership to continuously improve deployment methodologies, process playbooks, and implementation standards.
  • Share best practices across manufacturing sites to ensure consistent execution throughout the global network.
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment without direct reporting authority.
  • Support ongoing process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives following deployment.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of supply chain planning experience within large pharmaceutical organizations (large medical device companies may also be considered).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites within a complex global manufacturing network.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Extensive experience leading end-to-end supply chain transformation, Target Operating Model (TOM) deployments, or enterprise planning implementations.
  • Strong background in:
  • Supply Planning
  • Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
  • Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
  • Master Production Scheduling (MPS)
  • Capacity Planning
  • Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
  • Experience utilizing enterprise planning systems such as Blue Yonder (preferred), SAP IBP, SAP APO, JDA, Kinaxis, OMP, or similar Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable traveling 15-35% to manufacturing sites throughout the deployment lifecycle.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) solutions across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Formal Change Management certification (Prosci, ADKAR, APMG, or similar).
  • Experience developing deployment playbooks, governance models, and standardized planning processes.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Business.


Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a senior Supply Chain Planning leader with a proven history of driving large-scale planning transformations within Big Pharma. This individual has successfully led teams, deployed new operating models across multiple manufacturing sites, influenced executive stakeholders, and delivered measurable improvements in planning performance, operational readiness, and organizational adoption.


Candidates should clearly demonstrate the following on their resume:

  • 8+ years of Big Pharma supply chain planning experience
  • Leadership of direct reports and cross-functional teams
  • Multi-site manufacturing planning experience
  • End-to-end supply chain transformation or Target Operating Model (TOM) deployment
  • S&OP, IBP, MPS, MRP, and Capacity Planning expertise
  • Experience with Blue Yonder, SAP IBP/APO, JDA, Kinaxis, OMP, or similar planning platforms
  • Strong change management and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Ability to travel regularly to manufacturing sites
