Location: Job Family: Quality Assurance Country/Region: United States The Surgical Science Liaison serves as the bridge between our organization's scientific initiatives and key stakeholders. This role provides executive-level scientific partnership to Principal Investigators (PIs) and research sites. This role translates complex scientific data between R&D, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Clinical Affairs, and Marketing to drive innovation and ensure scientific accuracy in all communications, both written and oral. The SSL will be called on to draft and edit scientific publications, work with the Trial Council to refine protocol proposals, engage with the medical community regarding proposals for scientific studies and actively present, persuade, and defend technology with a comprehensive understanding of published data. This role is a full-time remote role with dedicated time in either our Arlington, VA or Minneapolis, MN office, reporting to the Director of Clinical Development. W hile this role can be remote, we are looking for someone who can be in our Minneapolis, MN or Arlington, VA offices frequently. Major Areas of Accountability Lead study design discussions with Health Care Providers (HCPs) and Clinical Development team for Randomized-Controlled Trials (RCTs) and Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs) Manage manuscript writing process and submission process, contribute to the writing process and support medical professionals involved in the writing process Facilitate site training for RCTs and IISs, provide overall study design support Develop and maintain relationships with HCPs and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to gather scientific insights for Clinical Development studies and key strategic initiatives Identify and evaluate research ideas from the field, conducting preliminary analysis before presenting to clinical development teams Translate complex research findings into accessible training materials for medical affairs and sales teams Partner with Marketing to ensure scientific accuracy and integrity in core messaging Synthesize scientific data to support development of educational content and materials Stay current with scientific developments in relevant therapeutic areas Represent the company at scientific conferences and professional meetings Facilitate scientific exchange between external experts and internal teams Provide scientific expertise to cross-functional teams when needed Work cross-functionally between R&D, Clinical Development, Medical Education & Marketing departments Anticipated travel: 50% Kerecis employees are required to conduct business to the highest ethical and professional standards; comply with applicable laws and regulations, the Advamed Code of Ethics on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals, and company policies Other job duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Advanced scientific degree in relevant scientific field (e.g., life sciences, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related discipline) from an accredited college or university Knowledge of surgical anatomy, and surgical procedures with tissue-based medical devices Understanding of and experience in writing clinical study protocols Strong understanding of scientific research methodologies and clinical development processes Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills Superior communication abilities, with talent for translating complex scientific concepts for diverse audiences Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with researchers and healthcare professionals Willingness and ability to write, review, edit and guide publications to demonstrate the scientific product benefits Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and to utilize that to write compelling scientific publications Ability to boil down key publication takeaways into key talking points for sales and Medical Affairs team Preferred Qualifications Master’s or Ph.D. in relevant scientific field (e.g., life sciences, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related discipline) from an accredited college or university 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry Experience working with physicians, Key Opinion Leaders and other medical professionals within the relevant field Familiarity with statistical analysis and design experience for research studies Base Salary Range: $103,000 - $150,000 This job description is intended to set forth the core functions required for this position and describe the general nature of the work to be performed.
