Overview Nationwide Search - Incumbent will work remotely anywhere in the United States The Ambulatory Care Surveyor - RN surveys ambulatory organizations throughout the United States within the full scope of the Joint Commission’s Ambulatory Programs. Engages health care organization staff in interactive dialogues on standards based issues in health care in order to assess and to identify opportunities for improving compliance. Prepares management reports that clearly link individual standards deficiencies with potential systems vulnerabilities and related organization risk points. Effectively communicates this information to health care organization leadership in a constructive and collegial style that leads to a meaningful and inspirational customer experience. Participates in other Joint Commission activities as assigned by supervisor. #LIREMOTE Qualifications Registered Nurses must have graduated from an approved school of nursing and have a Master's degree in an appropriate discipline. Current professional licensure in related discipline is required at the time of hire. Field Representatives in the Ambulatory program must have at least 5 years' experience in an ambulatory care setting. Leadership experience in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) or Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers (FQHC) is preferred. Experience must include a minimum three years of direct clinical experience and two years in management and or quality improvement. Additionally, current knowledge of The Joint Commission accreditation process is required. ASC clinical experience with orthopedic, pain management and/or endoscopy preferred. This highly visible and challenging role requires strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, expertise in interviewing and laptop/tablet proficiency. Must be able to lift 25 lbs., climb stairs, work in settings with infectious diseases, and travel nationwide 100% of work time. Ideal candidates will have experience in a culturally diverse work environment. Must be available to provide monthly availability and work two or three weeks per month. This highly visible and challenging role requires strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills, expertise in interviewing and PC proficiency. Must be able to lift 25 lbs., climb stairs, work in settings with infectious diseases, and travel nationwide 100% of work time. Ideal candidates will have experience in a culturally diverse work environment. Certification requirement: You must hold a CPHQ certification (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) through National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) at time of hire or attain by 12/31/28. Physical Abilities: Must be able to observe, in real time and without slowing or otherwise interrupting the progress of, all applicable types of ongoing health care treatment (e.g., including emergency treatment, treatment during weather and other extreme situations, etc.). Standing for long periods of time, walking lengthy distances, lifting, climbing, stooping, pulling, and pushing in order to adequately inspect and observe all medical facilities, equipment and procedures, such as emergency exit procedures, remote storage facilities, any areas where cleanliness may affect the possibility of infection, medical equipment, etc., including the following activities: walking up and down stairways (e.g., to test escape routes, assess safety of emergency exits, regulatory compliance, etc.); Must be able to engage in extensive travel as set forth above, including driving a car to remote locations, flying on small airplanes and into small airports, traveling in all types of weather conditions, etc. Must be available to provide availability to work four weeks per month (1.0 FTE), three weeks per month (.7 FTE) or two weeks per month (.48 FTE). Sunday travel to some surveys should be anticipated; travel home on Saturday may also occur, dependent on available transportation. Due to extensive travel requirements, candidates must be located within approximately 50 miles of a major commercial airport with direct access to domestic and/or international flight routes and facilities capable of accommodating wide-body aircraft. ***We are currently hiring for our next orientation classes scheduled for September/October 2026*** Equal Opportunity Field We offer a comprehensive benefit package.
