Systems Engineer II – Systems Safety – Job ID: 120438 Job Description The System Engr II serves as the major technical contributor for systems safety needs for the engines and power system portfolio of products that includes support plan for certification or qualification of engines and power systems (E&PS) products, review and support of certification and qualification documents, certification process standardization, automation to ease the processes and applying Artificial intelligence techniques. Responsibilities include providing systems safety guidance and support to E&PS programs, innovation, developing, and implementing talent strategies, people development, culture, technical coaching, employee engagement and enabling diversity and inclusion. Implement transformational strategy to reduce cycle time and cost and improve Honeywell Aerospace’ competitiveness in the marketplace. A Systems Safety Engineer is responsible for integrating safety into the design and operational processes of systems. They focus on identifying potential safety risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role requires a combination of engineering expertise, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of risk management methodologies. As safety becomes increasingly prioritized in engineering practice, the demand for skilled Systems Safety Engineers continues to grow, making this a rewarding career path for those interested in promoting safety in complex systems. Systems Safety Engineer Skills and Experience Understanding of aircraft turbine engines and auxiliary power unit. Experience in the development of system safety requirements and analysis as per ARP 4761 and ARP 4754 guidelines. Experience in hazard analysis methodologies such as Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Failure Modes, Effects and Analysis (FEMA), Systems Safety Analysis (SSA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Skilled in technical writing and documentation such as safety plans/procedures/reports. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Administration (EASA) systems safety regulatory requirements. Reliability analysis – Allocations to define requirements. Experience with Requirements Management and tools such as DOORS and/or DOORS NG. Experience with systems engineering methodologies and tools. Knowledge of Model Based Safety Analysis and Model Based Systems Engineering are beneficial. Apply latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in system safety process. The candidate must have passion for innovation and continuous learning. Systems Safety Engineer Responsibilities: Conduct safety assessments and hazard analysis of aircraft turbine engine systems. Support the development of system safety requirements and specifications. Work on system safety plans/procedures/reports. Review and analyze safety-related documentation and designs for compliance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into system designs. Work on root cause analysis for safety incidents and develop corrective actions. Aftermarket safety analysis and reliability metrics tracking. Basic Qualification and Experience: Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or in related field 3+ years of working experience in Reliability and Systems Safety Honeywell Aerospace never requests or accepts money from candidates at any stage of the hiring process.
