Takeoff & Estimating Assistant

Job Description This is a remote position. Takeoff & Estimating Assistant Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Takeoff & Estimating Assistant to support our estimating team by reviewing commercial construction plans, performing mechanical takeoffs, identifying HVAC equipment, and preparing accurate quantity counts for vendor quotes. The ideal candidate has experience with mechanical takeoffs, is familiar with HVAC systems, and is comfortable working with construction drawings and Excel. Key Responsibilities Review commercial construction plans and blueprints Perform mechanical takeoffs and quantity takeoffs Identify and count HVAC units, equipment, and related mechanical components Prepare accurate equipment counts for manufacturers to generate quotes Assist with preparing and organizing project estimates Support the quoting process and learn company-specific estimating procedures Perform general administrative and data entry tasks using Microsoft Excel Ensure accuracy and attention to detail throughout the estimating process Platforms & Tools Used PlanSwift Microsoft Excel Commercial Construction Drawings & Blueprints Company Estimating Software (Training Provided) Ideal Candidate Previous experience with mechanical takeoffs or construction estimating Experience using PlanSwift Ability to read and interpret commercial construction drawings Familiarity with HVAC equipment and mechanical systems Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to learn company-specific estimating and quoting processes Reliable, accurate, and able to work independently
