About the role The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for leading Casa Esperanza's full-cycle recruitment and onboarding efforts to attract, hire, and retain talented, mission-driven professionals. This position serves as a strategic partner to hiring managers by developing effective recruitment strategies, creating positive candidate experiences, coordinating onboarding, and supporting workforce planning initiatives. The Talent Acquisition Specialist also assists with employee engagement, training coordination, HR compliance, and People & Culture initiatives that strengthen Casa Esperanza's culture and support organizational growth. What you'll do Recruitment and Retention Manage the full-cycle recruitment process from requisition approval through onboarding. Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, position requirements, and desired candidate qualifications. Develop recruitment strategies that support organizational initiatives. Create and post engaging job advertisements across multiple recruitment platforms, social media channels, colleges, professional organizations, and community partnerships. Source qualified candidates using traditional and innovative recruitment methods. Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future vacancies. Review resumes and applications to evaluate qualifications and identify top candidates. Conduct initial candidate screenings and phone interviews. Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and interview panels. Facilitate reference checks, employment verification, credential verification, and background screenings. Prepare and extend employment offers in collaboration with the Chief People & Culture Officer. Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and recruitment metrics. Analyze recruiting data, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, candidate quality, and turnover trends, to recommend process improvements. Represent Casa Esperanza at career fairs, networking events, workforce development initiatives, and community outreach events. Promote Casa Esperanza as an employer of choice through recruitment marketing and employer branding initiatives. Onboarding & Employee Experience Coordinate all pre-employment activities for new hires. Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation. Ensure all required employment documents are completed accurately prior to employment. Coordinate orientation scheduling and facilitate a welcoming onboarding experience. Create and maintain electronic personnel files. Partner with IT, Facilities, Payroll, and department leaders to ensure a seamless onboarding process. Enroll employees in required learning management systems and assign mandatory trainings. Coordinate required CPR, first aid, Narcan, and other training programs. Conduct new hire follow-up to support employee engagement and successful integration into the organization. Human Resources Support Assist with employee status changes and HRIS updates. Support benefits enrollment activities during onboarding and open enrollment. Maintain accurate personnel records in compliance with federal and state regulations. Assist with HR audits, accreditation reviews, licensing visits, and compliance reporting. Maintain current job descriptions and recruitment materials. Support employee engagement initiatives and recognition activities. Participate in special People & Culture projects and continuous process improvement initiatives. Provide excellent customer service to applicants, employees, and managers. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience Minimum of two (2) years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, or human resources. Experience coordinating full-cycle recruitment strongly preferred. Experience recruiting within healthcare, behavioral health, nonprofit, or human services organizations preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of employment laws and hiring best practices. Strong understanding of recruitment strategies and sourcing techniques. Experience utilizing Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). Experience with online recruiting platforms, including Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, and social media recruiting. Ability to build relationships with hiring managers and candidates. Excellent interviewing and candidate assessment skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Ability to manage multiple recruitment activities simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service orientation with a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion. Ability to analyze recruitment metrics and identify opportunities for improvement. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience using Rippling or similar HRIS platforms preferred. Professional Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent) preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Team Dynamics: The team is made up of a Chief People & Culture Officer, People & Culture Manager, People & Culture Specialist, Payroll Specialist, and Talent Acquisition Specialist. This role interacts with leaders and hiring managers across the organization on a daily basis. Working Conditions: This position is full-time, 40 hours a week, in a private home office and organization offices or community, as needed. The schedule offers flexibility to meet the needs of the community and hiring and onboarding needs of our facilities.
