At Canvas, there are 5 behaviors we live by each day that will continue to help us be known for our heart and our people: What you'll do The Talent Champion assists with the development of Canvas’ recruiting strategy and has a primary responsibility for the successful execution of that strategy on an ongoing basis. He/she plays a consultative role with branch managers and other members of the Canvas management team with regard to recruitment and other HR practices, policies and procedures. They also manage vendor relationships with job boards, Canvas applicant tracking system vendor, and other third party vendors as necessary. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Confer with management to identify personnel needs and job specifications, duties, qualifications and skills. Develop recruitment programs, strategies and collateral to attract fully qualified applicants and fill specific job openings. Recruit, research, interview, screen and refer job candidates to fill vacant positions. Review resumes and job applications against position requirements, and interview applicants to determine details regarding work history, job skills, education and training. Provide information about the credit union and career opportunities to potential applicants. Provide constructive feedback regarding qualified candidates to hiring managers, and refer candidates to hiring managers for follow-up interviews. Respond to inquiries regarding human resources procedures and policies as they relate to recruiting. When necessary, work with employment agencies to source temporary employees to ensure that interim staffing needs are met. Assist with writing, revising, editing, and updating job descriptions as necessary. Administer and coordinate the job posting system and write internal and external job postings. Coordinate participation in job fairs and present career opportunities at job/career fairs. Utilize social media outlets, Internet recruiting, and other sources to identify and recruit candidates for available and future positions. Oversee the completion and execution of drug screens, background checks, employment & education verification, and reference checks. Ensure all pre-employment steps are completed prior to discussing employment offers with job applicants. Work with hiring managers to formulate employment offers, and extend formal offers of employment to applicants, actively marketing the position and negotiating when necessary. Develop and deliver training to hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques and legal issues pertaining to interviews they conduct with applicants. Close requisitions and disposition non-selected applicants as necessary when a candidate has filled an opening. Ensure candidates considered for an opening have been notified of non-selection via email or other form of communication, which allows for proper tracking of notifications. Conduct exit interviews with departing Canvas employees as needed. Maintain knowledge and understanding of applicable employment laws and regulations. Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements. Make recommendations and implement solutions to streamline or enhance HR processes. Exhibit support for the organization’s mission, vision, purpose, goals, initiatives and cost control. Ensure all applicant data is accurately captured, tracked, and retained for the purpose of Affirmative Action Planning & legal compliance. Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets. Comply with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements. Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job. Perform other job duties as assigned. Job Qualifications Knowledge, Skill and Ability: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain HR policies and programs and provide informed professional assistance to Leaders, employees and applicants. Ability to effectively and proactively source, identify and recruit top talent to Canvas utilizing advanced sourcing and recruiting skills in a wide variety of channels, to include social media outlets, Internet research, job boards, networking electronically and in person, and others. Strong relationship building and teamwork skills with ability to develop and maintain consultative relationships with Canvas employees. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills. Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to effectively prioritize frequently competing demands. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint). Ability to maintain confidences. Position requires strict confidentiality of all employees records and information and requires incumbent to sign a confidentiality agreement. Education or Formal Training: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Experience: One to three years of recruiting and/or leadership experience. The starting pay range for this position is $69,695.52-$87,125.55/annual, and final pay rate will be determined based on skills, experience, education, and internal equity factors.
