JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE Responsible for assisting the tax department in an administrative capacity working directly with the senior tax accountant in support of meeting the various compliance deadlines. Expected to handle daily tax correspondence, tax inquiries and e-mails from staff and customers. Oversee the tax exemption certificate administration, business license registration and renewals. Expected to interact professionally with all levels of staff as well as vendors and customers. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Respond to tax-related questions and correspondence from sales representatives, online portal collection correspondents, and other internal personnel. Obtain, scan, and file valid tax exemption certificates. Enter valid exemption certificates into Vertex Cloud Conduct periodic tax exemption certificate reviews to ensure our files are current. Maintain the business license registration and renewal process. Assist with NetSuite data clean-up projects. Assist with port-co data migration and historical data consolidation. Pull weekly, monthly, and annual data reports as required. Maintain the shared SharePoint tax site for exemption certificate files. Assist in pulling the data to complete the workpapers in the administration of sales & use tax audits. Complete monthly sales & use tax payments as required for assigned tax entities. Assist in driving a continuous improvement strategy within the business to promote incremental gains in quality and efficiency. Achieve operational goals set by the company and supervisor. Support corporate initiatives and decisions. Perform other duties/special projects as assigned. EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE + KEY TRAITS Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting / General Business or equivalent work experience. Working knowledge of invoicing, credit / accounts receivable and customer master file. Software skills (Excel, Word), NetSuite, Vertex Cloud. Ability to frequently work without direct supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization as well as with vendors and customers. Ability to adhere to strict deadlines. Excellent attention to detail.
