Tax Preparer / Staff Tax Accountant (Remote)

We are looking for a detail-oriented Tax Preparer / Staff Tax Accountant to support tax and accounting operations for a growing client base. This role involves preparing tax returns, maintaining workpapers, and assisting senior reviewers within established workflows.

Location: Remote

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST)

Language Requirement: English (C1 or higher)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare federal tax returns:
• Individuals (1040)
• Partnerships (1065)
• S-Corporations (1120S)
• Corporations (1120)
• Import and reconcile trial balances
• Prepare and maintain supporting workpapers
• Post adjusting journal entries as directed
• Organize tax documentation and files
• Resolve diagnostics and system-generated issues
• Follow firm procedures and standardized workflows
• Assist with bookkeeping and accounting projects
• Support monthly and year-end close processes
• Maintain organized client records
• Communicate project status and deadlines proactively
• Work closely with senior reviewers and leadership
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives
• Support special projects during busy seasons

Required Qualifications:

• English C1
• 2+ years of U.S. tax preparation experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. tax and accounting principles
• Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
• ERPs Needed
• Public accounting experience
• Experience with: CCH Axcess Tax, CCH Engagement, QuickBooks Online, Canopy and Monday.com
• Experience working remotely with U.S.-based accounting firms
