Teaching Assistant – Faculty of Education (Educational Leadership)

Role Description The Teaching Assistant – Faculty of Education (Educational Leadership) role is a full-time remote position supporting instructors and learners in online educational leadership courses. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with course delivery, monitoring discussion forums, responding to learner inquiries, and providing guidance on course expectations and assignments. The Teaching Assistant will help review and grade student work according to established rubrics, offer constructive feedback, and support learners in developing critical thinking and leadership skills. This role also involves coordinating virtual sessions, preparing learning materials under the direction of faculty, and helping maintain clear communication channels between students and instructors. The Teaching Assistant is expected to collaborate with faculty and the wider academic team to ensure a positive, inclusive, and engaging online learning environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Assistant Teaching skills, including supporting course delivery and providing learner guidance.
• Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for interacting with students, faculty, and staff in a remote environment.
• Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Education, ideally with coursework or experience in Educational Leadership or related fields.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with online learning platforms (e.g., LMS systems), strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
• A relevant academic background, (master’s level study in Educational Leadership is an asset), is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, learner-centered practices and sensitivity to diverse cultural and educational backgrounds is highly valued.
